🚨✨ BIG NATIONALS NEWS! ✨🚨
WE DID IT! 🎉🏆
Every SPSG group routine placed in the Top 10 Overall, and we are bringing ‼️FIVE‼️National Championship titles back to Boscobel! ⭐️
This week, Shine Power Studio & Gym traveled to Sandusky, Ohio to compete at the Showstopper Dance Finals. We took 26 dancers representing SIX different school districts and competed with 10 routines against some of the strongest studios from across the northern United States.
As always, we were one of the smallest studios in attendance.
Before we left, I talked with our dancers about setting realistic goals. Of course winning is exciting, but given the level of difficulty, our primary goal was making top ten. When you come from a small community and compete against studios with hundreds of dancers that have the opportunity to attend more than two regional events, and have a facility that can train countless hours each week, it’s important to understand the different level of competition and appreciate every accomplishment along the way.
I also try to prepare our families and community the same way. We LOVE a big trophy but attending a finals event is about making memories, building confidence, growing as performers, and experiencing opportunities that many dancers only dream about. 💭
What makes this week even more meaningful is that SPSG didn’t have the opportunity to compete nationally last season. 😢 Just one month before Nationals, our event was canceled, leaving many broken hearts. 💔 Traveling across the country, last minute, to attend another event wasn’t realistic for many of our families, so we missed our chance. 😢
That means SPSG hasn’t brought home a National Championship title since 2024.
Until now. 🥹🏆✨
I couldn’t be more proud of our dancers, our staff, and our entire studio family. Our students represented their communities so well. Our staff created incredible choreography and gave these dancers the opportunity to hear “Shine Power Studio & Gym” announced into the microphone NINE times during awards! 🎤💜
The results speak for themselves: we continue to grow, improve, and prove that small studios CAN stand up against the bigger locations. 💪
