This clip comes from a film reel labeled “Pierce Archive 1”. There was little other documentation corresponding to this reel, aside from an earlier clip being dated as 1965 and a later clip dated as 1975.

Pierce sensei was a 7th degree blackbelt in Shinshin Toitsu Aikido and Okuden in Shinshin Toitsudo. He was a loyal student of Tohei sensei for over fifty years, making him the most senior member of the Eastern Ki Federation.
Pierce sensei began studying Aikido in 1960 after completing his service in the Army. He later co-founded the NJ Aikikai in Merchantville, NJ. And in 1968, he became the Chief Instructor of the South Jersey Aikikai on Long Beach Island, NJ. Pierce sensei founded the
NJ Ki Society in Riverton, NJ in 1974.
