Mission/About Us
This initial program has developed from the need and want to create more professional performing opportunities in the High Country for professional and preprofessional dancers seeking to start or enhance their performing careers. From there, a need for a different kind of ballet and dance training began to emerge as well. We provide a nurturing, enjoyable, structured environment,
that motivates and encourages students and gives them a strong foundation for learning. Through safe and healthy practices, our lessons are created specifically for the appropriate developmental stage and progression of each student, in order to foster a positive learning experience for professional dance training. While students may progress enough to dance professionally one day, that is not the ultimate goal. Our goal is to give students the tools to become lifelong learners through dance in order to obtains skills needed to become successful in any area of life. We also provide opportunities for adults and college students to begin or continue their previous training, or simply to supplement what they are currently receiving. We provide supplemental technique classes for those wanting more, and for those just wanting to dance for fun and exercise or as a personal practice. We encourage faculty and teachers from other institutions to come take technique classes and workshops in order to aid in their own professional development. We provide assistance to teens who are interested in applying to college dance programs, and can answer questions and provide guidance about what programs they may be best suited for. We also aid in audition preparation for college and summer program auditions. For teens and college students, we provide additional audition preparation assistance in order for them to feel comfortable and confident venturing out into the professional dance world.
