This is easily one of my top three trout flies. A Prince Nymph always has a spot in my box.

This version has green wire and a durable black nickel barbless hook. You’ll find it in both our Essentials and All-Water Arsenal fly boxes.

Want it in your box? Grab an Essentials or All-Water Arsenal loaded fly box through the link in our bio.

The updated All-Water Arsenal is in stock and ready to ship!

I swapped in Hi-Viz Griffith’s Gnats, changed the Morrish Hoppers to green, and reorganized a few rows. You still get 70 flies across 16 patterns, with dries, nymphs, hoppers, and eggs for changing things up when the fish aren’t taking your first choice.

Tie on a dry for rising trout, hang a nymph below a hopper, or work a pair of nymphs below an indicator through the next run.

Already a great deal at $69.99, but use code SUMMER15 for an additional 15% off your entire order through the end of September. Fly box included and shipping is free.

See all 16 patterns and grab a box at the link in the comments.

If you’re planning an October trip to NC Delayed Harvest water, there’s a stocking change to know about.

NCWRC has postponed fall DH stocking until November after summer heat, drought, and hurricane-related hatchery damage reduced the fish available. New delivery weeks for individual streams haven’t been provided in the announcement.

The DH rules still take effect October 1. The stocking delay doesn’t move that date.

We’ve updated our stocking schedule and Delayed Harvest guide to explain what’s changed. Check the updates on the Fly Life website before planning a trip around a stocking.

Can you keep trout on Delayed Harvest water? Does it have to be fly fishing? What changes when the summer harvest season starts?

If you’ve found yourself second-guessing the DH rules, our new guide walks through the season dates and tackle restrictions so you know what you can fish with and when you can keep your catch.

We’ve also included six places to fish in WNC once you’re ready to plan a trip.

Check the comments for the full guide.

A 100% wild tiger trout pulled from a Western North Carolina mountain stream.

Every now and then, the mountains hand you something you weren’t expecting.

Those wild, maze-like markings are unreal up close. Definitely not a trout you run into every day.
Have you ever caught a wild tiger trout in WNC? Let's see em!
