I know this may not be a big deal to some but I noticed it immediately. The eye contact.

One thing that was instilled in me at a young age was the importance of making eye contact when someone is speaking to you. It’s a simple habit, but it says a lot. It shows respect. It shows that you’re present and paying attention.

That’s why it’s something I emphasize at every clinic I run. When I’m teaching, I expect athletes to look me in the eye. Not because I’m trying to be super strict, but because learning how to communicate, listen, and show respect will take them much further than anything I can teach them about fielding a ground ball or swinging a bat.

While I don’t know Coach Murphy or Jocelyn Briski, the fact that this is something she naturally does tells me a lot about her character and the program that helps shape her.

Softball is about so much more than softball.

As always, I need your help, softball parents!

I'm currently in the process of creating a glove line with RemPro Sports specifically for softball players, and I'd love your input.

The plan is to have three levels:
•Beginner (approximately ages 5–7)
•Intermediate (approximately ages 8–13)
•Advanced (high school and up)

My 3 goals are simple:
1️⃣ First and foremost, create gloves designed to fit the female hand. If I had a dollar for every time a parent asked me for a glove recommendation for a player with a small hand, I'd be RICH. For some reason, finding a quality glove that truly fits a female athlete is still way too difficult in our sport.
2️⃣ Create a glove with exceptional quality and performance.
3️⃣ Keep it affordable for families.

If you've followed me for any amount of time, you know I'm very particular about gloves. After wearing a glove for over 30 years, coaching thousands of players, and seeing countless girls show up to my clinics with gloves that are simply too big for their hands, I've made it my mission to create a glove specifically for fastpitch softball players.

Now I need your help with colors.

I feel really good about the colorways for my intermediate and advanced gloves, but I'm stuck on the beginner series. I want something fun, exciting, and something young players will love, without going over the top.

I'm torn between a white glove with color accents or a black glove with color accents. And don't worry... the color options won't be limited to pink. 😉
Which would your daughter choose? And if she’s older, what do you think she’d go for when she was younger? White or black?

Thank you, as always, for your support and willingness to give feedback. I know I ask for your opinions often, but there's a reason for it. I genuinely believe we're building this together, and your feedback helps me create products that truly serve our softball community. 🫶🏼

I hope to have some gloves ready to go in the beginning of 2027!

Bat Weight + Bat Length Charts

My friends at JustBats helped put together these bat weight and bat length charts to give you a solid starting point when shopping for your next bat.

Keep in mind that these charts are meant to be a guide and not a one size fits all solution. Every hitter is different, and it’s still important to evaluate how comfortable your athlete feels holding and swinging the bat.

A quick summary from my YouTube video “how to teach beginners how to throw a softball”

My goal was to keep this very very simple so my youngest athletes can understand it.
