My name is Josh Hanson.

This is my first year as a senior schwinger. I have been able to participate in Schwingfests since I was about 6 years old. I have competed at Ripon, Tillamook, Frances, Portland, and Tacoma. I have been coached and mentored by many great men, including Joe Ming, Paul Inderbitzin, Jason Gwerder, Nathan Holdener, Anthony Portman, Larry Holdener, and Bob Holdener. I'm also thankful for Bob's help in connecting with my Swiss heritage. Through the years I have won, I have have lost,
have crowned, and I have had a lot of fun.

Recently, I was presented with the opportunity to attend a Schwingfest in Quebec, Canada. I'm flying out this week. This is only possible because of the generous donations of members of the West Coast Swiss clubs. I am grateful, and I will do my best to represent them well.

Dear Tillamook, Oregon; Portland, Oregon; Truckee, California (my first crown); and Ripon, California,

I am very thankful for letting me come wrestle. I had a blast traveling and competing, and the competition was great. I also really appreciate all the support from the crowds and all the nice comments and encouragement.
