✨Come join us this Saturday, as we honor and celebrate the life of our beloved Coach Sergio Melendrez.

Coach Sergio dedicated his life to training fighters in a sport he loved since he was a young boy. He spent countless hours helping to prepare his fighters - from simple proper technique training to more intense toe-to-toe prep training. He was a crucial contributor to the beginning of Azteca San Diego Boxing Club, a trusted skilled coach, and our dear friend. He is deeply missed by all who were blessed enough to have known him.

We will celebrate his memory this Saturday, January 17, 2026 at ASDBC, with exhibitions of member only sparring, food, drinks, friends, family and fun! Please join us as we honor this staple in the boxing community and the magnitude of his love and dedication to boxing.

Halloween Friday’s don’t happen often. We want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Halloween!!!

We will be CLOSED for youth and night sessions on Friday, Oct. 31st, so everyone can enjoy their trick-or-treating. Cardio boxing will start at 8 a.m. and open gym will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come in and get your work out in before candy comas take over.

improves to 7-0 4ko’s
Luis “sniper” Garcia to 5-2ray to 6-3
and the improved to 25-4 19ko’s after maybe losing the 1st round and coming out in the 2nd round to (NEVER SEEN BEFORE) win by TKO after landing a combination, finishing with a body shot and immediately making the opponent vomit 🤮 Ref had no choice but to call the fight 👊🏼

Is that coach Chris??

If you know SD Boxing you most likely know or heard of Jorge Marron, he sent me this picture this past Saturday, “Aquellos tiempos Chingones”. (I agreed) Jorge was the right hand man/ matchmaker of Hall of Fame promoter Don Chargin who I credit both for guiding my career to the success I know I had. Also!! Jorge’s the reason for the moniker SD KID 👊🏼 He always placed Chris “The Kid” Martin on my dressing rooms, I never liked it and I can’t remember when but I just went with it and placed “San Diego” in front of it, “The San Diego Kid” was born.
10 main event headliners on the road to 23-0 and being ranked in the top 10 in 3 of the sanctioning bodies (wbc #13) 😒
5 local in SD, 4 Telefutura, 1 ShowBox, All the … Didn’t think much of it until now that it’s all gone but I’m forever grateful.. 👊🏼
