It was a warm, summer day yesterday for our second tournament of the 2026 PGA Jr League season.

In the 17u division, the competition continued to be tight. Our second team out, Team Lagoon (Johann, Jonah & Lucas S) made 8 pars and 1 birdie to post a 1-under par, 36. Our fourth team out, Team Ocean (Isabella, Lucero, Victoria & Michelle) got off to a poor start with bogeys on the first 2 holes. They bounced back and reeled off 3 consecutive birdies on holes 3 thru 5 to get to 1-uner par. Then they played the last 4 holes in 1-under par to come in at 2-under par, 35 to earn 3 points and the victory. Their win got them back in the race for the league title since last week they didn’t earn any points. Congratulations to Isabella, Lucero, Victoria & Michelle for being yesterday’s 17u medalists. In the overall standings for the 17u League championship, Team Lagoon earned 2 points and remained atop the standings with 4.5 points and Team Ocean is tied with Team River (Jackson, Blake, Leo, Kaylen & Avery) in second place with 3 points.

In the 13u division, Team Chula (Ava, Fernandina, Gizelle, Skylar/Kenzie, Madison, Abigail & Valentina) had a combined score of 3-under par, 71, earning 2 points and took over the League lead after Week 2. Team Vista (Cristian, Payton, Andres, Liam/Dylan, Aydyn, Chente, Noah & Stevie) were the only other team to break par, coming in at a combined score of 2-under par, 72 and earned 1 point. Team Bonita (Cash, Abraham, Ethan, Ezra/Faron, Nicolas, Seeley & Xavier) had a tough day with no points earned and dropped to second place in the 13u League championship.

The race for the 13u medals was between 3 teams. Team Bonita 1 (Cash, Abraham, Ethan, Ezra & Sam) was at 2-over par after 4 holes. However, they played the last 5 holes in 4-under par, closing with 3 consecutive birdies to post a 2-under par, 35. So they had to wait it out to see if their score would hold up. Team Vista 2 (Cristian, Payton, Andres & Liam) was at 3-under par after 6 holes. However, they played the last 3 holes in 1-over par and also posted a 2-under par, 35. Team Chula 1 (Gizelle, Fernandina, Ava & Skylar) was at even par thru 4 holes. They made an eagle 3 on the 5th hole to get to 2-under par and made 2 consecutive birdies on holes 7 & 8 to get to 4-under par, However, they bogeyed the last hole to post a 3-under par, 34 and earn low gross honors. Congratulations to Gizelle, Fernandina, Ava & Skylar for being yesterday’s 13u medalists.

It was a cloudy, cool day yesterday as we kicked off our 2026 PGA Jr League season at Chula Vista Golf Course and we got off to a great start.

For the fourth consecutive year, we had a separate 17u division. The competition was good with two of the four teams shooting under par. Our third team out, Team River (Jackson, Blake, Leo, Avery & Kaylen) were at 3-under par after 8 holes. Unfortunately for them, they made an untimely bogey on the 9th hole to post a 2-under par, 35. Our fourth team out, Team Lagoon (Jonah, Johann, Lucas & Miguel) got off to a great start with birdies on the first 2 holes. They played the last 7 holes in even par to also come in at 2-under par, 35. So we had to resort to our tie breaking procedure of comparing the last 6, last 3 and last hole to determine the winner. Team River made 24 strokes over the last 6 holes as did Team Lagoon. Over the last 3 holes, Team River made 12 strokes and Team Lagoon made 11 to earn the victory. Congratulations to Jonah, Johann, Lucas & Miguel for being yesterday’s medalists. In the overall standings for the 17u League championship, both Team Lagoon and Team River earned 2.5 points and are tied after one game. Team Lake is in third place with 1 point.

In the 13u division, Team Otay (Cash, Nicolas, Seeley, Xavier/Faron, Abraham, Ethan, Ezra & Sam) had a combined score of 6-under par, 68, earning 2 points to be League leaders after Week 1. Team Chula (Ava, Madison, Valentina, Abigail/Kenzie, Fernandina, Gizelle, Skylar) were the only other team to break par, coming in at a combined score of 2-under par, 72 and earned 1 point to move into second place in the 13u League championship.

The race for the medals was between the Otay Teams. Team Otay 1 (Nicolas, Cash, Seeley & Xavier) was at 1-under par after 5 holes. However, they played the last 4 holes in 3-under par to post an excellent, bogey-free, 4-under par, 33. The closing birdie was provided by Nicolas, who chipped in from just off the green on the 9th hole. Team Otay 2 (Faron, Abraham, Ethan, Ezra & Sam) was at even par thru 4 holes, but they played the last 5 holes in 2-under par to post a 2-under par, 35. Congratulations to Nicolas, Cash, Seeley & Xavier for being yesterday’s 13u low gross score medalists.

It was a perfect day to play golf for our fourth tournament of the May Junior Golf Development League.

We had 4 groups competing in the scramble division. The third hole was re-opened, so we played it as a par 4 and the par for the front nine went back to 37. Our second group out, Abraham, Ethan & Chente got off to a great start with birdies on the first 2 holes and were at 2-under par after 4 holes. They went on to birdie holes 5 & 7 to get to 4-under par and made par on the last hole to post an excellent, bogey-free, 4-under par, 33. So they had to wait it out to see if their score would hold up. Their closest pursuers were Nicolas, Aydyn & Xavier who were at 3-under par after 8 holes. They needed a birdie on the 9th hole to tie but they made bogey to post a 2-under par, 35. Congratulations to Abraham, Ethan & Chente for being yesterday’s scramble medalists.

In our own ball groups, we had 11 participants and with the re-opening of the 3rd hole as a par 4, our Operation 36 movement returned to Operation 37. Lucas got off to a good start with pars on the first 2 holes. He made double bogey on the 3rd hole and was at 2-over par after 8 holes. Unfortunately for him he made double bogey on the 9th hole to post a 4-over par, 41. Johann got off to a slow start with a bogey on the first hole. He went on to play the next 6 holes in even par and was at 1-over par after 7 holes. He bogeyed the 8th hole and made par on the 9th to post a 2-over par, 39 and earn the victory. Congratulations to Johann for being yesterday’s individual medalist, his 8th individual win.

It was a cool, windy day to play golf for our fourth tournament of the April Junior Golf Development League.

We had 4 groups competing in the scramble division. Our second group out, Nicolas, Abraham & Koa were at even par after 4 holes. However, they went on to make birdies on 3 of the last 5 holes to post an excellent, bogey-free, 3-under par, 33. So they had to wait it out to see if their score would hold up. Our fourth group out, Xavier, Noah, Skylar & Leo were 1-stroke better after the first 4 holes at 1-under par. They went on to make 2 birdies over the last 5 holes to also post an excellent, bogey-free, 3-under par, 33. So we had to resort to our tie breaking procedure of comparing the last 6 holes, the last 3 holes and the last hole to determine the winner. Team 2 (Nicolas, Abraham & Koa) made 21 strokes over the last 6 holes, while Team 4 (Xavier, Noah, Skylar & Leo) made 22 strokes. Congratulations to Nicolas, Abraham & Koa for being yesterday’s scramble medalists.

In our own ball groups, we had 12 participants. Lucas T was at 5-over par after 5 holes. However, he holed out from the fairway on hole 6 for an eagle 2, then followed that up with a birdie on the 7th hole to get back to 2-over par. He dropped a shot on the 9th hole to post a 3-over par, 39. Jackson started his round with 3 straight pars, then bogeyed the 4th hole to fall back to 1-over par. He bounced back on the 5th hole with a birdie to get back to even par, then played the last 4 holes in 1-over par to post a 1-over par, 37. It was his personal best from the silver tees and he missed the promotion to the white tees by 1-stroke. Congratulations to Jackson for being yesterday’s individual medalist, his 6th individual win.

It was another perfect day to play golf for our third tournament of the April Junior Golf Development League.

We had 4 groups competing in the scramble division. Our first group out, Andres, Nicolas, Koa & Xavier got off to a slow start with a bogey on the first hole. However, they made back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth holes to get to 1-under par. They made pars the rest of the way to post a 1-under par, 35. So they had to wait it out to see if their score would hold up. Our fourth group out, Leo, Liam & Aydyn got off to a bad start with bogeys on 2 of the first 4 holes. However, they reeled off 3 consecutive birdies on holes 5, 6 and 7 to also get to 1-under par. They made pars on the last 2 holes to also post a 1-under par, 35. So we had to resort to our tie breaking procedure of comparing the last 6 holes, the last 3 holes and the last hole to determine the winner. Team 1 (Andres, Nicolas, Koa & Xavier) made 22 strokes over the last 6 holes, as did Team 4 (Leo, Liam & Aydyn). Team 1 had 12 strokes over the last 3 holes while Team 4 made 11 to earn the victory. Congratulations to Leo, Liam & Aydyn for being yesterday’s scramble medalists.

In our own ball groups, we had 11 participants. Cristian got off to a slow start with a bogey on the first hole. He made birdie on the 5th hole to get back to even but then bogeyed the 9th hole to post a 1-over par, 37. JT got off to a terrible start with a triple bogey 7 on the first hole. However, he bounced back with a birdie on the second hole, and, in an excellent display of resilience, he played the last 7 holes in 3-under par to post a 1-under par, 35 and earn the victory. It was his personal best from the Silver tees and earned him the promotion to the White tees. Congratulations to JT for being yesterday’s individual medalist, his 8th individual win.
