The Berms MX

The Berms MX 2 of the best preppared tracks you will find plus a single, turn, micro and circle track. We have tried to make everything self explanatory.

BERMS for NEWBIES:

Open ride day hours vary and are limited, typically posted on page about 3 days in advance. Will also post about occasional training classes during summer.

- Before you come make sure you have at a minimum of a good helmet and motocross boots (no leather work boots). There is a lot of signs on the way in and all over the property so please read them all.
-There is

a sign up box by big parking area and also one for the regulars near the road by the beginner track. The secondary beginner track parking is for regulars because otherwise you wont be informed about the property if you go up there. There is plenty of parking right next to beginner track in main parking area as well if you drive past the big pond. Please don't park over white lines to keep things orderly. -PLEASE be gentle with all of our grass, it is very difficult to keep it growing and repair it in the sand, PARENTS please explain this to your kids. If we see you doing wheelies, gassing it or screwing around on grass you may be kicked out.
-1st thing when you arrive is to visit sign up box and read the information inside including SPECTATORS. We have an annual waiver everyone needs to fill out both sides once a year and then you can just sign the signature only waiver every time after that. Under 18 needs to have parent with them to complete both sides of the minor waiver every time you come in addition to the others. I am normally keeping an eye on big track or watering but I am trying to keep my daughter near sign up area for any questions you may have. Jenny is also wandering around keeping an eye on things and my son Dylan is watching beginner track, feel free to ask questions or say hi.
-There is a map of the property to right of sign up area to finish familiarizing yourself with the place. We have 6 tracks, sometimes they are not all open so watch the page news feed for updates on that as well as when we are open because times do vary. Big and beginner tracks are always prepped and watered every time we open.

-BIG TRACK is for those of you that like to spend time in the air and are comfortable jumping. 50 cc bikes AND trail bikes are not allowed. This is not the place for you to learn to hit your 1st jumps because we have about 24 of them per lap. If you are not doing at least 4 to 7 of the easiest small jumps on the big track then you should improve your skills on our other tracks or at other places 1st. I dont want you to feel pressured to do them and get hurt. It is important that we dont have too many ambulance visits and I would prefer to not have to be mean to you and tell you to get off. If we notice you on big track with your wheels stuck to the ground, looking nervous and uncomfortable escpecially with a small bike I may pull you to the side and ask if you are aware of and have visited beginner track. There is no reason parents should send their beginner kids out there if they havent been on other tracks 1st. These are not scary jumps, every jump can be cased by an average rider thats familiar with jumping but there are many out of turns, not many straightaways so if you know how to turn the jumps are easy for an average weekend warrior but not for those who just bought a bike. You are always busy jumping or turning. Pure joy when you have a couple years experience. We will split this up sometimes if its busy and I am seeing a big skill gap. If you see a sign that says A/B or NOT A/B then you need to pick one. You MUST pay attention to the sign when entering the track and once per lap. A/B is for those that jump everything or nearly everything on the track. NOT A/B is for those that are not jumping nearly everything. If you are doing the big jump, you do not belong in NOT AB. If the splitting signs are out, pick ONLY 1 group. We will try to update a white board with tentative switch times if we can.

-Beginner track is great for anyone new to the sport that is trying to get comfortable on the bike and good place hit their 1st jumps because they are small and safe. We try to keep this track graded flat and normally dont have ruts. New riders with big bikes are welcome on it but keep in mind its mostly kids with smaller bikes. We may split this track up if there is more then a few big bikes or its really busy and we see a large skill level gap. If its split you will see a sign that says big and fast or smaller and slower. You will need to just pick one group if you see this sign out.

-Micro track is mainly for kids or pit bikes or electric, its a smaller space with hills and turns, no jumps, designed to be a getaway from a busier track for kids to get comfortable on a bike

-Circle track is designed for training purposes, sometimes we till it to help develop ruts.

-Turn track is closer to back of our property and there is a well marked trail dedicated to getting you there. You will see a big sign on edge of parking area that gets you onto trail. This track gets groomed about once a month and consists of deeper sand and turns, no jumps, great training and is especially nice when moisture is high. I recommend you go back there with somebody.

- Single track is 2.8 miles long and consists of some hills, some boardwalks through swamp, tree roots and a few rocks. Its is great practice and keeps you busy and focused because there is normally a rut you need to stay in. We recommend you also ride this track with someone.

- Bring your swimsuit in the summer and enjoy a dip in the pond. Unfortunately there is possibly some riders may not find a track that is a perfect fit. If you are not interested in the turn tracks deeper sand or the fact that its not prepped, if you are not into woods riding or if you feel you are beyond the beginner track but like to keep your wheels on the ground and are not comfortable jumping yet then I would say there is other tracks that may be a better fit for you to develop your skills before you come ride our big track but all are welcome to come and check it out and figure out if you are out of place. There is a bunch of other places that have a big track with less jumps within 4 hours like Valley Raceway in FonDuLac, Midwest Moto Acadamy, Euphoria Rider Development, Lake Breeze MX, Sugar Maple MX, InDefence riders, Pine ridge raceway, Dyracuse, Meadow Valley, Nonas nightmare, VRW in crystal falls, Denmark mx. Please support them as they all invest a lot into the sport we love.

Looking for another helper! This person ideally rides here often, doesnt live too far away and is willing to help watch track for at least 2 hours during our busiest riding time. This person would also be available to help water before and possibly during events also after I spend some time training you on the system. Obviously the schedule is kind of random but we will compensate with $ and or free riding or training.

9 years ago we started taking our own pics with our new expensive camera lense. Jenny has done a great job of capturing all these epic moments for us on every single ride day we have had I believe. That is roughly 210 events, tens of thousands of pics and this is the 1st time we have had a malfunction. I believe the memory card is at fault but all the pics Jenny took from last Monday are gone. Very sorry.

FULL Saturday May 30th we will be doing a training class on big track from 10-2 and then open riding until 3ish for those signed up for class. This is for 65 and up who are able to at least do an easy jump and get through our deep sand turn. This class is not for those who have never hit a jump before, its more suited to people who have at least a little experience. This is perfect for those who do not have their technique dialed and want a chill track to learn on. We will be going over all the fundamentals from head to toe. Very limited number of riders so we have quality time. Please message me for details and to reserve a spot as they are limited. Next chance for open riding is second weekend of June.
