Welcome Coach Gentry to the
Jordan Gentry enters her first season as the Assistant Coach for the Dolphins after years of coaching travel softball with the Kentucky Academy of Sports Fastpitch organization and high school softball at Lloyd Memorial High School. While coaching at Lloyd, Gentry and her team set a few firsts. Not only did Coach Gentry host the school's first alumni game and summer camp for incoming players, but the team also beat its district rival for the first time in fastpitch school history!
Prior to coaching, Gentry went pro as the 32nd draft pick in the ASBA for the E1 Pro Ballers. As a utility player, Gentry worked hard and was able to play in the ASBA All-Star game.
In her four years at the University of Pikeville, Gentry was a dual athlete playing softball and basketball. Gentry received honors for First Team Mid-South Conference, Academic All Mid-South Conference, Easton NFCA Scholar Athlete All American, NAIA Scholar Athlete, Breakthrough Athlete of the Year, Player of the Week, and Team’s Most Outstanding Player. A consistent double threat Gentry played infield and outfield and was also a switch hitter. Gentry set the UPIKE Athletics’ single-season batting record (.419) and lead the team in OPS, SLG%, and Hits for two years and batting average, AB, Runs Scored, Triples, Homeruns, Total Bases, Walks, OB%, and Stolen Bases for a year.
We are excited to have Coach Gentry on staff to help our program become stronger!
