HEARTBREAKING — A DROWNING.
EMA in Franklin County recovered the body of a man from Tims Ford Lake.
Tragic circumstances:
Witnesses say the man tied his boat to the dock and then went to get his vehicle and trailer at the Devil’s Step boat ramp.
As he backed the trailer into the water, he realized the boat had become untethered from the dock and had drivted away.
The man then jumped in and tried to swim after it.
He was unable to reach his boat and couldn’t swim back to shore.
At that point he went underwater and never reappeared.
THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO THIS MAN’S FAMILY.

TN STATE RECORD ALERT‼️

Check out this 29.5”, 15.75lb largemouth caught on Nickijack Lake 😳

“There is a likely new Tennessee state record largemouth bass under review right now. Sequatchie County angler Darren Nunley caught the 15.75-pound bass - weighed on certified scales - on Nickajack Lake Saturday morning (Feb. 28, 2026). If the huge fish is ultimately certified, it will best Gabe Keen's current state record by about a half-pound.”
