3 centuries and 2 fifties this season by our Capt Ahmed Qureshi. He is in the form of his life. Ahmed Qureshi is currently in the race for best the batsmen and MVP for this year's 2021 Pepsi BPL Cup. Let's show some appreciation for the amazing consistency and leading Golden Eagles from the front.

Match day: Golden Eagles vs Superkings

Summary:
Golden Eagles won by 51 runs
Golden Eagles: 243/10 in 30 overs
Superkings 192/8 in 30 overs
Man of the match: Harshad Choudhri

GE won the toss and decided to bat first and as usual our captain, Ahmed Qureshi was hitting and timing the ball nicely. He brought up his first 50 of the season after having narrowly missing them in previous games. On the other end of the carnage was Harshad Choudhri who hit every ball out of the park. Soon it was Harshad's turn to bring up his half century, striking at a rate of almost 250. There was a little fumble in GE's middle order near death overs but Azhar's sixes over mid-on helped GE put up a strong total of 243.

Superkings started their innings good but this is where GE's experience really started to shine. With no wicket in the opening 6 overs, they decided to switch their bowling to spin on both ends and boy, what a decision that was. Ahmed and Zohaib brought instant impact and sent 5 of their top batsmen back to pavilion thanks to some amazing fielding by the team especially Riaz. Superkings did show some restraint towards the end but it was Harshad Show all over again.

Harshad grabbed MOM again for his amazing 79(38) and 2 wickets

Match day: Golden Eagles vs Midwest CC

Summary:
Golden Eagles won by 6 wickets
Midwest CC 192/8 in 30 overs
Golden Eagles: 193/4 in 27 overs
Man of the match: Harshad Choudhri

Midwest CC won the toss and decided to bat. Their opening batsmen were aggressive and had a good start but Harshad had different plans. With so many different variations and smart thinking he got rid of one of their openers. Adding to the pressure was Mustafa with his amazing yorkers and didn't let the opposition settle. He was rightly rewarded with 2 wickets. Midwest given the experience and quality they have, started to get back in the match thanks to amazing half century by Umair. However, the last ten overs is when the GE bowlers really started to shine. Harshad ended up with 4 wickets and notable performances by the other bowlers. Midwest put 192 on the board for GE to chase.
Come GE innings, the captain, Ahmed Qureshi was in a different mood. Some say he woke up on the wrong side of the bed because he was just hitting the bowlers on all sides of the ground. Unfortunately, he fell short by a few runs for his half century when was adjudged LBW. Riaz, Khurram and Shahzaid batted really well and constructed a near perfect platform but Midwest got them out and GE were reduced to 115/4 in 19 overs. GE still needed 80 runs in 11 overs and that's when Zohaib and Adnan walked in. Zohaib started smacking the ball from get go given the form he is in and Adnan was supporting and holding his own on the other end. This pair had a 80 run partnership between them and bought GE home with still 3 overs to spare.
Collectively it was a complete team effort. Harshad was given the MOM for his unplayable bowling and 4 wickets. GE flying high this weekend.

Golden Eagles face their first defeat of the season to Black Caps. Having won the toss, GE elected the bowl first and the opposition put up an big total of 242 in 30 overs. Amazing display of ball striking by their players. In response, GE was bundled out for 95 in 20 overs.
Back to the drawing board and we take all positives and negatives from this game and move on.

Golden Eagles started their 2021 BPL season with a win. GE were playing against legendary Bolingbrook CC.
After having won the toss, GE decided to field first. Harshad and Riaz were leading the bowling attack as usual and Harshad quickly got rid of their opening batsmen. Bolingbrook CC lost three wickets in the powerplay. In the middle overs, Zohaib was unplayable in his spell and he was awarded with 3 wickets. However, Bolingbrook CC fought back hard and put up a total of 163 to chase on a wet outfield.
When GE came to bat, they were in a very tricky situation having lost both their openers in the first 2 overs. Khurram and our captain, Ahmed, tried to form a partnership but it didn't take long for Bolingbrook CC to dismiss Khurram and GE fell to 44/3 in 10 overs. Things were looking grim GE all of a sudden. There was a glimmer of hope when Ahmed and Adnan had a steady partnership but that didn't last long either when Ahmed was dismissed for a well judged catch at the boundary. GE were reduced to 69/4 and that's when Zohaib walked in. Zohaib and Adnan soaked all the relentless pressure by Bolingbrook CC and formed a much needed partnership. On one end, Zohaib was counter attacking their bowlers by hitting long sixes and on the other end, Adnan was frustrating them with quick singles and doubles. They formed a partnership of 56 runs before Adnan was caught at the boundary. Next came Mustafa who quickly finished the match with his signature shots. GE won by 5 wickets and 3 overs to spare.
