Are you doing everything you need to do for your health? If not, why not?

What’s holding you back? Time? Commitment? Motivation? Consistency?

We hear the term all the time. Even I say it to clients, but what really is Consistency when it’s related to fitness.

Is it working out 5 days a week? 3 days a week?

Going for a walk 3 days a week?

Taking the stairs instead of the elevator?

Saying no to the White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks?

Yes. Yes. Yes to all.

Consistency is the daily battle with yourself that NEVER goes away. It’s forged from discipline (NOT motivation) and all of the little decisions that you keep making that lead to better habits.

But even habits require a decision, it just becomes an easier choice over time.

Discipline = routine
Routine = habits
Habits = consistency
Consitency = progress or maintenance.

If you’re happy with where you’re at, maintenance becomes the goal, which can be a hard pill to swallow for some.

Honestly, I’m not a big fan of working out on the road.

Most days it takes more determination than I want to admit to get my ass into the gym a lot of the days I’m travelling.

But I KNOW it’s then best thing I can do for my body. No pill, supplement or cleanse can come even close to the benefits exercise can give you.

I KNOW it’s the best thing I can do for myself mentally as well. Proving to myself that I’ve got the mental fortitude to get it done is a confidence builder.

I think deep down we all know it. The real hard part is admitting to yourself that you do.

All it costs you is a little bit of time. But it’s an investment in a future that last longer, with less doctor visits, and better QUALITY time in your twilight years.

I use my Myzone to keep me consistent. 94 effort points today toward my monthly goals 💪🏻. If you need help finding your motivation, shoot me a DM and we’ll hash it out for you 👊🏻

If you’re trying to lose weight, discipline must be involved.

We at the Fitness Life teach how to make progress towards goals while not giving up all of life’s pleasures…..BUT some change in habits must be adhered to for certain goals.

You must be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Eating clean all week and creating that deficit, can easily be erased by a weekend of “doing and eating whatever you want”.

Alcohol and it’s calories can especially add up quickly.

Fried foods, desserts and appetizers in all of their delicious glory, can easily put the kibosh on your progress so be smart about it!

Having a drink or two? SKIP THE APPETIZERS

Love the appetizers at your favorite restaurant? JUST HAVE ONE LOW CALORIE DRINK.

Is your favorite appetizer high in carbs and calories? Have it anyway but eat less at breakfast and lunch so you save some calories for your fav dinner!
