During summer months, Bogus Basin offers lift access to some of Idaho's best mountain biking trails. Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area, located 16.5 miles north of downtown Boise, is a short drive from the airport and surrounding communities. Since 1942, Bogus Basin has been offering family-friendly mountain recreation for generations of enthusiasts. The non-profit recreation area offers 2,600

acres of daytime skiable terrain and 165 acres for night skiing and riding; seven lifts and three people-mover carpets; and an 800-foot tubing hill. A hidden gem, the area boasts 91 named runs, an 1800 foot vertical drop, and a Nordic center that offers 37 kilometers of groomed trail for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. And - you don't want to miss the most spectacular views around.

Summer operations kick off this Fridayโ€ผ๏ธ

The Basin Gravity Park and summer activities, including the Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, Scenic Chairlift rides, Explorer Base Camp, and more will be open from 11 am to 7 pm Wednesday โ€“ Sunday through Labor Day weekend.

Exciting news from the US Forest Service ๐ŸŒฒ The temporary Bogus Basin Road closures, originally set to run through June 19th, have been lifted early!

Trail closures are in effect through August 14th โš ๏ธ Sections of the Stack Rock, Sweet Connie, Mr. Big, Eastside, and Sinker Creek trails will be closed weekly, beginning Monday at 6 am and ending Friday at 6 pm.

The US Forest Service plans to begin the second season of the four-year Deer Point Stewardship Project, a forest-wide effort that includes hazardous tree removal and forest health improvements, on April 27th, 2026.
