Heads up, Celebration Park Boaters!

The Celebration Park boat ramp at Melba is back open as of May 22nd following Phase I improvements — new ramp, docks, gangways, ADA access, and parking upgrades. It's a great step forward for access in the Birds of Prey stretch.

We know some of you have concerns. Yes, the ramp is shorter than ideal, and yes, there are some large rocks at the base of the concrete. Your feedback has been heard — Canyon County commissioners and Parks & Rec have been out to the site in person and acknowledge the issues. Donated rock is already lined up and available for riprap extension. Keep in mind, water levels are much lower this year due to the mild Winter and Spring months. Idaho Power is regulating flows to protect the water reserves for irrigation right now.

Here's the important part: please hold off on calling the county. Please refrain from contacting the county commissioners, Parks & Rec. etc. The WWA is actively working with the county to make sure Phase II addresses these concerns the right way.

Phase II is currently scheduled to begin in August 2026 when water levels drop, and will include a redesigned armored barb to protect the ramp and dock from scour and erosion. More improvements are coming — but only if we let the process work.

We'll keep you updated as things develop. For official updates from Canyon County, check:
