Congratulations to our team captain, Kenndy on being this yearโs female Daniel Dewey Sportsmanship Award recipient. Kennedy is a dedicated team member, leader, and friend. You can count on Kennedy to help whenever there is a need. If lane lines need to be moved, Kennedy is the first to volunteer. If teammates appreciate support behind a lane, you can count on Kennedy to be there. We often see her cheering behind the lanes of others from our LSC who are not on Boise Swim Club! She is a true example of sportsmanship.
Kennedy was a part of our Snake River All Star Team last summer in Clovis, CA, where she contributed individually and on relays. She is a Boise Swim Club athlete rep for Snake River Swimming and a team captain with our club.
Kennedy is respectful to her teammates, her teachers, her coaches, and the community. This past August, Kennedy was selected for the Hardest Worker Award at Boise Swim Club. She prioritizes swimming and our weight training schedule despite being at a challenging school, Sage International, where she is pursuing an IB diploma that requires a lot of time and focus. Kennedy is an active member of the Model United Nations Club at her high school. She won the Boise Swim Club RISE award in 2022 which recognizes one swimmer each year for their commitment to Respect, Integrity, Safety and Excellence both in an out of the pool.
Many swimmers from other teams recognize Kennedy as a friendly, outgoing swimmer who they can count on for a fist pump and kind words after their race, even when her own race may not have gone as planned. She helps strengthen Snake River Swimming by participating in HOD and athlete meetings for our LSC, where she provides a voice for all athletes. Kennedy is flexible, organized, and responsible. She is someone we can count on to lead our team well.
Kennedy has dedicated time as a babysitter and a preschool teacher. For the past year she has volunteered at St. Als Hospital, assisting patients before and after surgery, and helping transport patients in wheelchairs, and she has worked at a senior living center in the dining room, helping residents during their mealtimes.
Kennedy is always looking for opportunities to encourage her teammates and her coaches as we work as a team towards our goals. She is an excellent candidate for the
Kennedy, is one of the friendliest swimmers within Snake River Swimming who knows how to put people at ease. She makes everyone feel welcome with either a simple hello or by making others laugh. She is willing to volunteer before or during swim meets. Kennedy goes out of her way to make others feel welcome. She is fun and caring and eager to work hard at swimming setting an example for others to follow. She not only works hard at the pool, but also is willing to help others outside of swimming whether it is babysitting or being there for others. She portrays excellent sportsmanship before or after races. She is an amazing nominee for the Daniel Dewey Sportsmanship award.
