Typically I like to see the break in person before I give a quote but if needed I can try and judge it from pictures. Please have the frame stripped of all parts except the seat post (I use this as a safe point to clamp into my work stand).

Been super busy lately and falling behind on the social media side of things. But things are good at Boise Carbon Repair. Today’s schedule so far: wake up, take kids to school, swing by the office to grab a bike, draw up a custom mold in Solidworks, start the mold on the 3D printer, go for a quick ride, come home to a finished mold and use it on one of today’s repairs for a front derailleur clamp area.

Scott MTB with a repaired small gash on the downtube and a basic white logo fix with custom-cut vinyl. I actually really like when I can get them to look good with a little carbon weave scar tissue peeking thru when you look closely.

Sometimes when I do special projects for myself they don’t get the “make it pretty” treatment but they can still be pretty cool all the same. That dull gray end cap on this hub is actually a forged carbon replacement for the standard aluminum part. It didn’t need to be carbon for any reason other than the correct aluminum one was missing and I wanted to see if I could do it.

My 2022 race bike is ready to rock (even though my legs and lungs are far from it). Took inspiration from the 2021 McLaren F1 Monaco special livery to hopefully motivate some speed into me.

Not the prettiest sight but definitely a common one in my workshop. Although working on a bare frame is easiest for me, I find it’s a big value to my customers to not need to fully disassemble their bikes for a carbon repair. This can mean no messing with a dialed-in position and/or not paying a mechanic to re-cable and rebuild your bike. I do have the tools and experience to disassemble bikes as needed but it’s nice to avoid that whenever it makes sense.

I didn’t have a good vinyl match for the blue on this one but I was able to play graphic designer and copy the look of the other brand logos on this bike to cover up the repair anyway.

Another cross race weekend and this time I got to bring out both my CX bikes to play. Both are frames I personally repaired and both have full vinyl wraps. The geared bike on the ground is a Trek Boone that had a cracked-thru seat stay and the single speed on the roof is a Trek CronusCX that had both a top tube repair and the full drive-side dropout replaced using a scrapped donor bike. +1
