Stop doing these 5 things and you’ll start building muscle so fast it’s suspicious
1️⃣ Pump Chasing
Random circuits, chasing the “Burn” and focused on getting a pump isn’t going to help you grow.
~There’s a difference between doing what looks hard and doing what actually works. Lift with purpose and be specific to your goal ~ progressive overload, proper splits, and recovery. Stop chasing hype, start chasing results.
2️⃣ Eat MORE CARBS pre and post workout instead of just focusing on protein. Protein is needed for muscle repair and growth, but without enough carbs protein goes to waste. Carbs fuel your day to day energy, training, and recovery. AIM for 2-6g per lb of body weight on top of a high protein diet.
3️⃣ Only getting 1 rest day per week. I was getting really frustrated because I was hitting it hard, being consistent, and had my macros dialed in but wasn’t seeing progress. ~ I was only taking 1 day off per week and this was KILLING my progress , because I wasn’t allowing my body to
Fully rest, recover, and rebuild.
4️⃣ Resting only 60 seconds between sets. If your goal is to build lean muscle you have to push HARD on every working set, it should feel like you did a sprint right after, and if 60 second rest is enough you’re not training hard enough. ~ Increase rest time up to 90 second to 2 minutes between sets to allow your muscles to recover.
5️⃣ Stop Guessing Macros.
“I think I eat enough…” means you’re definitely not. You wouldn’t get in a car for a long road trip without CLEAR directions so you know you’re always on the right track so stop approaching your calories with that same energy. ~ Get crystal clear with your macros so you know exactly how much you’re eating and how much you require to grow.
