🦗31 BIA Students to Perform in Cinderella

Participating in Cinderella is a truly one-of-a-kind experience for Ballet Idaho Academy students. Dancers are immersed in a magical fairytale brought to life through their passion, commitment, and artistry.

It’s incredibly rewarding to watch them experience so many firsts along the way. The first time they see their opulent, whimsical costumes, they gasp in delight. The first time they learn new choreography, they giggle with excitement. Rehearsing alongside professional company members leaves them awestruck, and stepping onstage for the first time brings a mix of nerves and pure joy.

It’s a milestone moment for these young dancers—and an opportunity unlike any other in the Treasure Valley.

🌺Meet Annabelle Kelsay, BIA Student Ambassador

🌺You may recognize her from her beautiful solo in The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra or her appearance in the technically challenging and precise Yule Pole dance in The Nutcracker. Two things are for certain, she has stage presence and she’s a quick learner!

JS: How long have you been dancing and what first inspired you to start?
AK: I’ve been dancing for 10 years and what inspired me to start dancing was when my parents would take me to see The Nutcracker every year.

JS: What has been one of your favorite memories at BIA so far?
AK: One of my favorite memories at BIA was being in the dressing rooms getting ready for my first Nutcracker with BIA!

JS: Nutcracker holds a big place in your heart! What is it like performing alongside professional company members? What has been your favorite company performance to watch?
AK: It’s amazing being able to perform alongside professionals because they are so inspiring and I look up to them a lot. My favorite performance to watch is The Nutcracker because of all the different variations and styles they perform.
