Friends, we are asking for prayers for a dear friend of ours from Tapatio, Ed French.

Several months ago, Ed fell at home and broke his neck. Since then, he was moved to Montgomery, Texas, where he has been in rehab. Ed has been a longtime member of Tapatio and an avid golfer, and so many of us have wonderful memories with him on and off the golf course.

Today, we received a very heartbreaking update that Ed’s condition has become very serious, and his family is by his side. Our hearts are heavy for Ed and for everyone who loves him.

David has many good memories with Ed through golf, and we are praying for peace, comfort, and strength for Ed and his family during this very difficult time.

Tapatio Springs MGA golfer Wesley Overley and his guest Caleb Schmerbeck took top honors Saturday September 14, 2024 at the annual Tapatio Springs MGA member/guest golf tournament. First flight winners Overley and Schmerbeck won in a playoff on hole #10 with Overley sinking a 4’ putt for the win over Flight 5 first place winners Jim Schmelter and Andrew Ladwig.

In the final shootout, all six flight winners teed up in a shootout format on hole number 9. After that hole was finished, it was Overley and Schermbeck vs. Schmelter and Ladwig left standing and they headed to hole #10. From the tee box, team members alternated shots until the ball was holed. Neither team had a great drive off #10 tee box, but recovered with their second shots. Overley and Schembeck hit the green with their third shot on the par 5 hole and Smelter/Ladwig overshot the green to the left and had a 25 foot chip shot to get on the putting surface. They ended up making their bogie putt and Overley sank his par putt for the win.
