As the sun rises in the eastern sky
Take a breath and hold your head high

The air of Freedom ever so sweet
Was defended by those you will never meet

These heros stood tall and proud
Head and shoulders above the crowd

Remember On this Memorial Day
Those who no longer have a say

Let their memory speak
For thier actions defended the weak

They fell without guilt or remorse
To help steer our nation's course

They fought through hell and damnation
They fought for other people's salvation

In battles on foreign soil
Through thier anguish and toil

The acts of Valor too many to speak of
They gave thier best with Honor and Love

A love for a flag standing tall
Amongst the fiery battles it does not fall

Men and women who've laid down their lives
So that the freedom you know, survives

On this day, when the sun sets in the west
Let us remember those who gave their best
