It’s the foundation of every great infielder. A quick, decisive first step gets us to the ball faster, sets our angles, and ensures our glove presentation is spot on.

That fraction of a second can is the difference of fielding a ground ball or it getting past you or even a potential error.

The way we move from the start can change the entire outcome.

Soft hands equal quiet hands.
If you don’t have soft hands, it’s going to be tough to become an elite infielder or even an average one.
If you struggle with hard hands, try these three things:
âś… Train with a pancake glove 3x a week
✅ Think “stop the baseball,” not “catch the baseball”
âś… Use your glove like a ramp and let the ball flow into your throwing hand
