Roger Federer’s 237-week reign as world No. 1 is still standing, over a decade after it ended — from February 2004 to August 2008, every single ranking release had his name on top. Novak Djokovic has the far bigger career total, 428 weeks against Federer’s 310, and he still holds the outright record for total time at No. 1. But even Djokovic’s longest unbroken run tops out at 122 weeks — barely half of Federer’s streak. Pete Sampras needed three separate stints just to crack 100 weeks straight.

Total weeks measure a career. Consecutive weeks measure a peak nobody could touch — and on that measure, Federer still stands alone.

Full breakdown of all 29 men below.

Two three-set battles. Two Americans through. One rematch of the ages. 🎾

Sabalenka survived a 4-2 hole in the deciding tiebreak to outlast Wimbledon champion Noskova. Then Pegula answered — clawing back from a set down to knock out fellow American Navarro.

Now it’s Sabalenka vs. Pegula on Thursday — a rematch of the 2024 final, and the third straight year these two have collided in New York’s final four.

Meanwhile: Andreeva-Gauff and Zheng-Rybakina still to come Wednesday. The draw is only getting tighter.

New York never sleeps — and Tuesday night proved it. 🇺🇸🎾

Ben Shelton stunned defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in a 4-hour, 28-minute epic that didn’t end until 3:33 a.m. — the latest finish in US Open history. Hours earlier, Frances Tiafoe fought back from two sets down to outlast fellow American Alex Michelsen.

Two Americans. Two five-set wars. One all-USA semifinal.

The day belonged to the USA. 🔥

Świątek’s reign at Flushing Meadows is over. Rybakina and Zheng both delivered statement wins — and Zheng did it from 0-5 down. 🎾

The women’s field is down to eight, and it’s loaded: Sabalenka defending her crown, three Americans still standing, and a Wimbledon champion crashing the party.

Quarterfinals split across two days — Tuesday brings Sabalenka-Noskova and the all-American Pegula-Navarro. Wednesday delivers the heavyweight clash: Andreeva vs. Gauff, and Zheng’s shot at Rybakina.

Round of 16 is a wrap. Time for New York to get loud.

Aryna Sabalenka tied Serena Williams for six straight US Open quarterfinal appearances with a straight-sets win over Taylor Townsend, and now faces Wimbledon champion Linda Nosková, who needed six match points to finally close out No. 11 seed Marta Kostyuk. On the other side of the draw, it’s an all-American showdown: No. 3 Jessica Pegula cruised past Sorana Cîrstea, while No. 26 Emma Navarro upset No. 21 Anna Kalinskaya to set up a rematch of their rivalry — one Navarro has now flipped in her favor.

**Day 8 locked in half the quarterfinal field. 🎾**

Frances Tiafoe delivered the day’s biggest statement, outlasting former champion Daniil Medvedev in three tight sets to reach his fourth US Open quarterfinal in five years. He’ll face fellow American Alex Michelsen, who’s yet to drop a set all tournament and became the first unseeded man this century to reach the US Open quarterfinals without one. Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz handled Tommy Paul in straight sets, setting up a blockbuster against Ben Shelton, who cruised past Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Whichever way this half of the draw goes, an American is guaranteed a spot in the semifinals.
