This may look like a simple forward fold, but there’s a little more happening here.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine and meridian-based Yin Yoga, the Liver meridian travels from the big toe, along the inside of the leg and inner thigh, through the groin and into the torso.

By opening the legs and allowing the body to soften forward, this posture gently works along that inner line of the body, particularly through the adductors which is why wide-legged folds are traditionally used to stimulate the Liver meridian.

Notice how I keep support underneath my torso, allowing the inner thighs to remain the primary target area without forcing myself deeper into the pose.

I'm supported.
I’m breathing.
I’m allowing gravity to do some of the work.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Liver system is associated with the smooth movement of Qi, or vital energy. When that movement becomes constrained, the traditional framework associates it with emotions such as anger, frustration and irritability.
This gives us an ancient energetic framework for exploring the relationship between the body, breath, energy and emotional awareness.

So instead of asking, How far can I stretch? Try asking, Where can I soften?

Breathe in through the heart and out the belly, connecting the space in-between.

Unclench the jaw.
Soften the belly.
And give your nervous system permission to stop doing for a moment…
and simply be.

Follow SIVAN for more ways to bring ancient wisdom into modern life. 🌿

And if this practice spoke to you, like, save, and share it with someone who may need a little more space to soften. šŸ’œ

Thank you, Englewood! 🌊

It was so nice meeting everyone who stopped by to see us at the Englewood Health Fair!

SIVAN is really about one thing: caring for the whole woman — mind, heart, body, soul and spirit.

After years working in conflict resolution and specializing in narcissistic dynamics, both personally and professionally, I realized we can spend an awful lot of time learning how to understand difficult people, communicate with them, set boundaries and survive their chaos.

But eventually the question has to change from:

ā€œHow do I deal with them?ā€

to

ā€œHow do I heal from them?ā€

And that is really where SIVAN was born.

Through Ayurveda, nutrition, yoga, breathwork, nervous-system support, sound, movement and intentional self-care, we help women begin listening to themselves again — because wellness was never supposed to be one diet, one fitness routine or one answer for every woman.

Right now, SIVAN is growing through our partnership with Freedom Fitness & Wellness in Placida, with more local partnerships beginning to take shape.

The bigger dream? A coastal beauty and wellness sanctuary for women where all of this comes together under one roof.

Not somewhere to escape your life.

Somewhere to return to yourself so you can go live it. 🌊

Thank you, Englewood, for such a warm welcome.

We’re just getting started. šŸ¤

Evening Hibiscus Restoration Tea

🌺 1–2 teaspoons dried hibiscus petals, or 1 hibiscus tea bag
šŸ’§ 1 cup hot water
🄄 ¼–½ cup room-temperature coconut water
šŸŠ A small squeeze of fresh sweet orange, about 1–2 teaspoons
Optional: a small pinch of cardamom

Steep the hibiscus in hot water for 5–7 minutes. Let it cool until comfortably warm, then stir in the room-temperature coconut water and a small squeeze of orange. Add a little cardamom if you’d like some aromatic warmth.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, hibiscus and coconut are cooling and can be especially supportive when Pitta qualities are showing up—feeling hot, irritable, intense, or overstimulated.

Because this combination is cooling, it may not be the right choice when Vata is already presenting as cold, dry, depleted, or ungrounded. Ayurveda reminds us that what brings balance to one person may not be what another person needs, and that’s one of the things we love most about Ayurveda.

You listen to the body.
You listen to the soul.
And you lean into the Spirit to discern what you need in this moment.

So as the day winds down, put the phone away for a little while. Let tomorrow’s problems belong to tomorrow. Sit somewhere quiet, hold something warm in your hands, and give yourself permission to simply be.

Sip. Settle. Restore. 🌊

And what do we know of Love?

God, the Source of All, is Love.

The Source is the Divine Masculine—the Father, the originating presence from whom all things come. The Spirit is the Divine Feminine—the breath, wisdom, presence, and life that moves through creation and holds it together.

Male and female, Father and Spirit—not divided, not competing, but united as One.

And whether we recognize it or not, we live within that union. The same Love that flows between Source and Spirit moves through creation, binding us to God, to one another, and to all that lives.

Perhaps this is why love is so much greater than emotion. Love is not simply something we feel when circumstances are favorable. Love is the divine order beneath everything—the thread that holds together what appears separate.

And if we are made in the image of our Creator, then we are called to love in the same way:

without possession,
without division,
without demanding sameness,
without making another our enemy.

To love does not mean approving of everything. It does not mean abandoning truth, wisdom, discernment, or boundaries.

It means refusing to become separated from Love while standing in them.

The Father, Source of all and the Divine Spirit, the Mother of all, are One in Love.

Love holds creation together.

And we are called to love as They love — because whether we remember it or not, we already belong to Love.

If you’ve lived with narcissistic dynamics or coercive control long enough, you may reach a point where you don’t even recognize your own reactions anymore.

You’ve been pushed, pulled, poked, provoked, dismissed or blamed until eventually you react—and then somehow that reaction becomes ā€œproofā€ that you’re the problem.

That’s one of the things we’ll unpack in The Path Back to You.

We’ll talk about recognizing emotionally unsafe and narcissistic patterns, understanding how these dynamics affect you, rebuilding trust in yourself, regulating your nervous system, setting boundaries, and finding your way back to who you are.

And this isn’t only for women who have left. We’ll also talk about how to navigate these relationships when you’re still living in them—whether you’re preparing to leave, choose to stay, or leaving simply isn’t an option right now.

This webinar isn’t about hatred or blame. There is room for understanding and forgiveness.for yourself and for them without excusing harmful behavior or abandoning your boundaries.

Understanding doesn’t mean excusing. Forgiveness doesn’t mean allowing.Compassion doesn’t require access.

Sometimes understanding the pattern is exactly how we stop carrying it forward. šŸ¤

🌿 NEW FROM THE SIVAN ALCHEMIST |
Ayurvedic Beauty Through Nutrition

Ayurveda has always understood beauty as an expression of what is happening within us. The foods we eat, the strength of digestion, hydration, rest, stress, seasonal rhythms, and the way we nourish our bodies all contribute to the health and vitality we see on the outside.

And as women move through perimenopause, menopause, and the seasons beyond, that nourishment becomes even more important.

Our newest article, Ayurvedic Beauty Through Nutrition, explores a more holistic approach to beauty—one that supports the skin rather than asking it to resist the natural process of aging.

We’re talking nourishing foods, healthy fats, protein, colorful plants, seasonal eating, simple Ayurvedic rituals, facial oils, and the everyday practices that help support radiant skin from within.

Because at SIVAN, beauty was never meant to be about looking younger. It is about looking nourished, vibrant, rested, and fully alive in the season you are in. ✨

Guided by Wisdom. Rooted in Nature.

We are often taught to approach skin from the outside: cleanse it, exfoliate it, correct it, and cover whatever we do not like. Ayurveda teachers us a broader and gentler perspective. It views the skin—tvak—as living tissue that reflects how well the whole person is being nourished. From an Ayur...
