In my opinion there are few places where a bowhunter has a realistic opportunity (40% or higher} of harvesting a 150" buck or better under fair chase conditions. Whitetail deer continue to amaze me. I have found mature trophy bucks in some rough and remote places. But recently I scouted a small property less than 1/4 mile from town and guess what? Found buck sign , big buck sign. They look for seclusion, and sometimes that find it just on the edge of town where nobody hunts.

There is a lot of hard work in the outfitting business. It requires scouting, selecting stand sites, hanging stands, cutting shooting lanes, guiding clients, tracking deer, dressing deer, dragging deer, getting deer meat and cape ready for travel. Then when hunt is done all stands have to be pulled and hauled out of woods. Thankfully I have great guides that now carry most of the load. You have to love it. Until next year!

Yesterday afternoon Scott took his second buck in two years with us. We have had one client go 4 for 4 and several go 3 for 3 in recent years. It looks like he is hot on their track. Congratulations on another nice buck!
