Full Strength: Boaz Swim Team Qualifies Entire Active Roster for State Championship Pirates to Field Full Squad in Huntsville; Coach Anticipates Podium Finishes
BOAZ, Ala., November 18, 2025 – The Boaz High School swim team has achieved a rare milestone in high school athletics: the entire active 2025 roster has qualified to attend the AHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championship.
Following a season of consistent improvement and record-breaking swims, 12 student-athletes—representing the full men’s and women’s active squads—will travel to the Huntsville Aquatics Center to compete on Friday, November 21st, and Saturday, November 22nd.
“I am incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of these athletes,” said Head Coach Josh Lang. “They have worked hard all season, and we are expecting a great return on that investment this weekend.”
Podium Contenders
With the team peaking at exactly the right time, Boaz expects to be highly competitive in Huntsville. Coach Lang anticipates several podium finishes from both the men's and women's squads as they face the state's top competition.
State Championship Event Lineup
The depth of talent on this year's squad is evident in the number of multi-event qualifiers. While swimmers are capped at two individual entries by state rules, the abundance of qualifying times across the roster allowed coaches to strategically place athletes where they are most poised to succeed. Gustaf Farnqvist: 200 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly
Peyton Troxtel: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle
