🤩Long post but worth the read😍
There have been so many inspiring people walk through the doors of BTF over the last 12½ years, and I want to take a moment to highlight one of those amazing people. My first impression of Shari was actually made before I ever met her — over 15 years ago, when she bought a Bible for my son Evan when he was born. Then one day, more than 11 years ago, she walked into BTF, and from that moment on became such a significant part of the heart behind this place. She’s the kind of woman who makes every new person feel welcome, encourages everyone around her, laughs with us, cries with us, prays with us and quietly takes care of the little things, like changing the toilet paper and paper towels when they’re empty🤭. She’s also the type of person who sends me a card on her BTF anniversary, which tells you everything you need to know about her heart. Always thinking of others, always making people feel appreciated and loved.
Last week Shari lost her father and her whole family showed up for her at her place…BTF. We took this picture after their workout to post on social media. But when I saw it, it got me thinking about success. As a business owner, of course I want my business to thrive and be “successful.” But this picture helped me see what is most important and honestly, more than anything, this is the kind of success I hope to have someday. Grown children who know Jesus, and who genuinely want to spend time with me and with each other. Not money. Not a big house or a nice car. Not even a thriving business. But a family built on love, faith, and joy — the kind of family that still chooses each other even when they don’t have to. And that kind of love doesn’t happen by accident, it’s built through years of faith, kindness, sacrifice, and leading by example. To me, that’s the greatest success of all. 🤍
Shari, how lucky are we to have you at the heart of this community? You, my friend, are a true inspiration, role model and reflection of your Heavenly Fathers heart.
I Love You,
Katie
