As we move through PTSD Awareness Month, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge something many people silently carry every day: the lasting impact of trauma on both the mind and body.
CPTSD is often misunderstood. Many people associate it only with extreme events, but trauma can affect people in deeply personal and complex ways. For some, it may look like hypervigilance, anxiety, emotional numbness, difficulty sleeping, or constantly feeling “on edge.” Others may struggle with feeling disconnected from themselves, their bodies, or the people around them.
One of the most important things I want people to know is this: healing is possible, and you do not have to go through it alone. Healing rarely happens all at once. It happens through support, connection, self-awareness, and gentle moments of choosing yourself again and again.
