Been cleaning out the gym today. I guess this is it for Barbell Station. It is unfortunate another local business gone under. I’ve always tried to be positive with this business and help the community when I could. Unfortunately I’ve realized, and I’m sure others have too, if you want to run a business in Bluefield you either need the right last name or be willing to kiss the ring of the powers that be.

As of Midnight tonight. Barbell Station is no longer open. This past year has been awesome. We have gotten to meet some great people and making some lasting relationships. Seen a ton of PRs and seen people break through barriers they never imagined. Had the pleasure of training some awesome youths and a few Bluefield Beavers. It isn’t ending how we wanted but on to the next thing. I hope all of our members are successful in finding a new gym. We still have some equipment for sale and some members still have some equipment that needs picked up. We hope everyone who had the opportunity to drop in had a good experience. Stay strong 💪🏼

Unfortunately July 31st will be the last day we are open. Our area has become over saturated with gyms in the last year and unfortunately powerlifting and strongman is not as popular as we expected. From a financial standpoint it’s simply not possible for us to continue to operate. I will be selling some of the equipment in the coming weeks.

Any members who have graciously brought in personal equipment please try to have it out by the end of July.

I wanted to give a special THANK YOU to Danny Akers Michael B. Shaw Joshua Fowler Austin Jenkins and Roger Bailey for running the Summer Slam Bench and Deadlift Competition for me. I was out for an emergency and missed the majority of the competition but they all helped tremendously to ensure the competition ran smoothly

Had an awesome turnout and a ton of STRONG competitors today at the SUMMER SLAM Bench and Deadlift competition. Had multiple 600+ pound deadlifts along with 2 700+ pound deadlifts. Multiple 400lb+ Bench Presses and a hand full of 500lb+ bench presses. Very impressed with these strong men and women 💪🏼
