Exciting news!

We will resume practice for youth basketball next week, starting Monday, February 14. Teams will begin practice with the hope of playing games the first weekend of March. Masks will be required indoors for all who are not participating in the practices and or games. We look forward to having everyone back!

– Bluefield University announces that the Herb Sims Youth Basketball League will pause activities Friday, January 14, due to increased COVID cases in the Bluefield area.
Teams in the league began practice the last week of December and games were slated to start in the next two weeks. Activities will resume in March. The league consists of 12 teams with more than 130 participating.

Good morning,

Due to a number of circumstances, we are pushing back the start of the youth basketball season. Teams will continue to practice and teams that haven’t started yet will get practices started. We do hope to get this season of games kicked off very soon and we thank you for your cooperation and patience during this time.

Reminder: First Coaches Meeting is tonight at 6pm at the Herb Sims Wellness Center. Again, kids do not need to be present as we will have coaches call out after tonight for scheduling practices. Thank you!

We thank you all for your patience over these past days as we have tried to nail down our numbers for this season. We will have our first coaching meeting tomorrow night at the Herb Sims Center at 6pm. At this team coaches will receive their teams and pick practice times and we will begin practicing next week. If you are interested in coaching please join us at the meeting tomorrow night. Thank you again for your patience!

As we continue to take registrations and gather numbers, there will not be a “Tryout” or draft tonight. As we collect numbers of participants over the next few days we will be reaching out to those who wish to coach and get teams organized.

It’s Playoff Time! Here is the slate for this weekends games to be played! FYI: awards for Itty Bitty and PeeWee will be given out in between games. Midget awards will be given out in between the two Midget Games.
ALL GAMES ON SUNDAY WILL BE PLAYED AT THE DOME AT BLUEFIELD COLLEGE.

Winners will play Sunday February 23rd at the times below:
Itty Bitty: 2PM
PeeWee: 3PM
Midget: 4PM
