West Union Powerlifting

Our girls had a great lift today! They’ve worked so hard to get to this point. 4 out of our 5 girls placed first in their weight class and will move on the state competition. Madison Thompson came up short but she has had a great season. We placed 4th out of 14 teams at our North Half Meet. I’m so proud of these girls and what they have been able to accomplish! Individual Results are below:

Morgan Burks- Squat: 370 / Bench: 130 / Deadlift: 360 = 860 combo (1st place in the 220 weight class)

Morgan Greer- Squat: 300 / Bench: 95 / Deadlift: 320= 715 combo (1st place in the 181 weight class)

Addy Hudson- Squat: 295 / Bench: 145 / Deadlift: 290= 730 Combo (1st Place in the 165 weight class)

Raquel Mejia- Squat: 225 / Bench: 105 / Deadlift: 265= 595 Combo (1st Place in the 123 weight class)

Madison Thompson- Squat: 245 / Bench: 100 / Deadlift: 220= 565 Combo

The “Fab 5” are looking to make a playoff run in Powerlifting today at North Half. If they finish in the top 3 in their weight classes, then they move on to the State Competition.

West Union Powerlifting would like to invite you to our annual Lift-A-Thon tomorrow in the weight room behind the gym at West Union. We are raising money to fund the season for both teams and it will allow us to compete with necessary equipment. The girls will start with the boys starting . Admission is free so come out and support your very own West Union Powerlifters! If you cannot make it but you would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it!

Our girls have worked so hard and their hard work finally paid off! As a team we finished in 3rd place out of 9 teams and we only had 7 lifters (you can start 12 in powerlifting). We had 5 girls that placed in the top 3 of their weight classes and will be moving on to North Half. Morgan Burks, Raquel Mejia, and Lainee Robbins finished 2nd in their weight classes and received🥈 - Kayden Bogue and Addy Hudson finished 3rd in their weight classes and received 🥉- I am so proud of them!
