I’ve typed this post about 4 different times because I want to make sure it comes across the right way. So bear with me. I apologize for the long post.
We went to Eagle as most know last weekend and our motor decided it was done. We didn’t give up. We thrashed and pulled the motor out tore it apart and was able to use a couple things to put a new one together. Jeremy at GI Auto busted his ass to get us up and running and we were sitting pretty. My wife helped drop it in. My mom helped get some last minute items since I was swamped trying to get everything else wrapped up.
Friday morning came around we snuck down to Butler, Missouri. Ran hot laps. Car was great. Went up to Qualify and clutch rod came off the peddle. Which is weird considering I don’t even touch this to pull the motor. Missed the heat race trying to get it buttoned up. Because of course I was the first heat. 🙃 Got it fixed, went out for the “B” feature and ran a solid 4-5 laps picking cars off and p**f. Motor left the chat.
Now I’m gonna make this VERY clear. The build is NOT the issue. I don’t know if it’s a computer issue. I don’t know if it’s a fuel issue. I don’t know if it’s a water pump issue. I don’t know. But we will get it figured out. Unfortunately though it will not be right now.
Over the last 8 years this racecar and the cars before it, have determined my mood, my bank account, and what is going on the calendar. We are putting an end to that. This week has been far from fun. And the wallet just isn’t there.
I can’t thank everyone enough for the all the support though. Jeremy for the last minute build, my Mom for the last minute pick up, Brandi for coming over and helping get things in the truck to be fixed and built. My wife for keeping the house afloat and literally everything that I have asked of her. And all of my other sponsors, Andy Huffaker and Eldon’s Auto hasn’t even got a visit from me I’ve been so busy.
