Bloomington Gun Safety Training

Bloomington Gun Safety Training Non-profit organization providing an opportunity for MN residents to earn their firearm safety cert. We are currently running a hybrid course.

A core group of 20 volunteer instructors deliver a program designed to allow participants to earn their Minnesota fi****ms safety certificate. This certificate, issued by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), is required of anyone born on or after January 1, 1980, who wishes to obtain a hunting license in the State of Minnesota. Students age 11 and older must complete their online hunter saf

ety course ahead of the field day. They will then attend an in-person review and fi****ms fundamentals session followed by a hands on live fire field day. Field day sessions are typically held in April and August of each year at the American Legion Post 435 Gun Club in Webster, MN. With a cap of 25 students, classes fill up fast! Due to the limited hands on time with each student, we intentionally keep a small class size. Cost of registration is $7.50/student. Additional financial support for the course is offered by American Legion Post 550, Bloomington, MN. 🎯 Our Firearm Safety Field Day is TOMORROW! 🎯

The weather is projected to be in the mid-to-high 70s, but with the humidity, it is going to feel like the high 80s.

We have a few shade canopies set up, but please come prepared so you can focus on your training safely and comfortably.

Here is your gear checklist for tomorrow:
👕 Peelable layers: Wear layers you can shed as it heats up, and include a rain barrier just in case.
👟 Closed-toe shoes: These are strictly required for safety on the range.
💧 Refillable water bottle: Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
🦟 Bug repellent: The woods are currently thick with the Minnesota "state bird" (aka mosquitoes!).

Get some rest tonight, pack your gear, and we will see you on the range tomorrow!
