Smithville Diamonds is leaving the lights on overnight in honor of Shannon McPike.
For years Shannon showed up for Smithville. As a mom, a supporter and as a board member.
For so many people, they can’t picture their time at the ballfields without memories of Shannon. She was part of what made Smithville truly feel like a family.
The world is darker without Shannon. So tonight, we leave the lights on in honor of someone who meant so much to so many people. We hope this small gesture can serve as a reminder that Shannon’s impact on our community will continue to shine long after tonight.
In true Shannon fashion tonight at Smithville: “We’re Golden.”
