Main Street Yoga has been serving McLean County since 1996 and we provide the most comprehensive Yoga and Yoga Teacher Training programs in the area. We also provide on-site fitness programs for local corporations. Yoga is often cited as the most beneficial practice for healing stress related illness, building strength and endurance (physically and emotionally), and developing the mind. Yoga adapt

s to the individual’s needs and may be very challenging, or nurturing and relaxing. Our beautiful yoga studio is quiet, clean and comfortable providing our students with an ideal environment for deep healing and profound relaxation. A class length of 75 – 90 minutes allows time for a complete yoga experience including: postures, breathwork, deep relaxation and meditation. We also provide blankets, straps and blocks to make your experience as comfortable and effective as possible. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace, without competition or pressure.

We have some wonderful people here at Main Street Yoga leading classes.

Today, we'd like to feature Shana Parker. Shana was a longtime student who took yoga teacher training in 2020. She teaches Wednesday morning Gentle yoga at 8:30am.

Here is a little more about Shana in her own words!

Q1: What is your favorite Yoga Teacher memory?

I took my 200 hr Yoga Teacher training during Covid (2020) - all by Zoom. To practice teach with fellow students, we'd often meet in parks to avoid confined spaces and keep a safe distance. It was wonderful to be breathing, moving, sharing time with my yoga sisters in a natural setting.

Q2: What is your favorite seasonal activity?

I love walking thru Parklands in the Fall - the colors of leaves, the smell of leaves,
the scrunch of leaves underfoot.

Q3: What is something you're looking forward to?

Really looking forward to re-discovering favorite books with my granddaughter when she learns to read.

Q4: What is something on your Bucket List?

Definitely want to explore and bike ride in NW France (Brittany / Bretagne). A lot of Celtic history there and great seafood!
