Packet Pickup for April Fools 5k is extended!

***If you did NOT fill out the results form, your packet is waiting for you at XtraMile Running.***

XtraMile Running is graciously extending our packet pickup until Monday, August 10th. So if you haven't stopped by, there's still a chance!

Packet pickup will be in-person at XtraMile Running at 1437 W Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194. Phone number is (847) 252-9155.

Packet Pickup dates are Friday July 31st-Monday August 10th, 2020
Hours are Mon-Thu 10-8, Fri 10-7, and Sat 10-5. Social distancing and face coverings are required to enter the store. All you need is your first and last name to pick up your packet and one person can pick up multiple packets. XtraMile will also be offering $10 off any shoe or 10% off any other item purchased in the store during packet pickup. Any packets not picked up by August 10th, 2020 will be forfeited.

For those who selected to have their packets mailed to them on the results form...Packets will be mailed by August 7th, 2020.

Thank you to all 283 runners who participated in the April Fools 5k and Kids Dash this year! As we celebrate packet pick up week, we are releasing official results for the virtual race. Dear April Fools 5k Registrants,

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the DuPage County Forest Preserve will not grant us an event permit to hold the April Fools 5k during 2020. This means we will be unable to race in person this year. Since we already have 282 runners registered, we will be converting the race to a virtual format in the next few weeks.

Our design team currently working on designing a participant MEDAL that will be mailed to each of you along with your shirt. This is an upgrade that was not part of our original race format this year to help make up for the fact we cannot meet in person. Those of you who received a hat during the Jester Hat promotion, will also receive that in your virtual race packet.

As soon as I have confirmation from our design team on when we can have our shirts/medals ready for shipping (the medals come from China, so it can take a few weeks!), I'll set a date range for us all to virtually walk/run the race. Feel free to use the race course or map out your own 5k in your own neighborhood. I will set up an optional form where you can submit your time results for recognition.

I'll keep you all informed as I get more information from our team. Things are moving slower from our suppliers due to being short-staffed.

As previously announced, the April Fools 5k and Kids Dash has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 25, 2020 @ 8:00am.

***If you do nothing and you were registered already for the 2020 race, you will be automatically transferred to our rescheduled date.***

If you do not want to participate on 07/25/2020, you have a few options:

1) Defer your registration to 2021
2) Have us mail your shirt to you and not participate in the actual race
3) Decline participating and decline the shirt, donating your registration to the charity. We will email you a donation receipt.

To take advantage of one of these alternatives to the rescheduled race date, go to our Google Form at https://forms.gle/spLHAU4b2qnEfxcz9 by Sunday, May 3rd and tell us what option you prefer.

The form must be completed for EACH PERSON who registered for the race. Please understand that your choice is binding and we will be unable to change your selection after you complete the form.

I'm proud to announce we have a new date for the April Fools 5k! Saturday, July 25, 2020 @ 8:00am in the same beautiful location. Stay tuned with information on how to transfer your registration to the new date or register as as new participant. We anticipate being able to open registration within a week!

The safety and well-being of our event participants, volunteers, event staff, and spectators is always our top priority. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the unique impact it continues to pose to our community, we have made the decision in partnership with local public health authorities to RESCHEDULE the 2020 April Fools 5k.

I am working with our vendors, the Village of Bloomingdale, Meijer and the DuPage County Forest Preserve District to secure a new date. We will be aiming for the race to be rescheduled sometime during June-August 2020. As soon as I know the exact date, I will send out an email announcement to everyone and re-open registration for new runners. We are unable to issue refunds for the race.

Once we have a new date set, you have a couple of options for your registration. I listed some information under each option so you can choose what will work for you. Please be aware I cannot make any changes until we announce the new date.

1) Participate in the race on the new date - You will not have to do anything. We will automatically transfer your registration to the new date and will send you instructions for packet pick up etc by email.

2) Cannot participate on the new date and want to transfer registration - If you cannot participate on the new date you will have the option to transfer the registration to another person or to transfer it to participate in the 2021 April Fools 5k. Instructions will follow on how to do this by email.

3) Cannot participate on the new date and want to donate the registration fee - If you cannot participate on the new date, you can choose to donate the registration fee you paid (minus the fee charged by raceentry.com) to our non-profit charities and receive a receipt for your tax deductible donation by email.

Thank you all for registering to run with us at the April Fools 5k and regret that we will have to postpone the fun. This race has raised over $70,000 for charities and makes a huge positive impact for our local community.
