Let me tell you about Jazzercise...
You don't have to be a dancer to do it. Jazzercise uses dance moves to create a super-charged, calorie-burning workout that doesn't feel like working out. It includes moves from a variety of fitness specialities- from dancing to kick boxing to cross fit. Everyone is at a different level and does what works for them. I'll explain more.
Every Jazzercise instructor is trained to show moves at different impact, intensity and complexity levels. So, for example, an option rather than skipping could be marching. Or instead of a mambo move (which is really three fast steps), touching out once rather than the three steps. So, to answer your question about being afraid you won't be able to catch up or having "no rhythm'', in my experience you will be able to catch up and you probably have more rhythm than you think!
The beauty of Jazzercise is that it's a supportive community. No one is watching anyone else. Everyone is focused on getting the best workout for them. All of my instructors know how to find simple ways to explain the moves. And for what it's worth, very few of our customers have a dance background. Everyone is here for the music and the fun.
