Today marked the start of the Colin Smith 2-Bowl Pairs at Essex County Lawn Bowling Club.
We took a moment to honor the memory of Colin Smith, who sadly passed away this past February. Touching tributes were shared by those who knew him well, including his beloved wife, Debbie Smith.

It was especially meaningful to see Colin’s granddaughter, Olivia, proudly holding his plaque alongside his daughter, Jackie — a beautiful reminder of his lasting legacy.

Colin Smith served as President of Essex County LBC since 1995 and contributed significantly at both the Divisional and National levels. Colin was inducted in the Bowls USA Hall of Fame back in 2017. In recent years, Colin faced health challenges and was unable to be as active, but his impact on the sport and the club was immense. It is with great sadness that we share Colin passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 70. We are deeply grateful for all that he has done for the sport of bowls and our club. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on Wed, Feb 5th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service.

Congratulations to Veronica Sum 🎊 of Essex County Lawn Bowling Club in Bloomfield, NJ for winning the 2024 Bowler of the Year in the Northeast Division (NED). It has been 13 years since a woman last won this prestigious honor. Well done! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Congrats to two of our club members for winning the 2024 Arculli Pairs, honoring a world champion in bowling, Skip Arculli. Unfortunately, this year the event couldn’t be held at Essex County Lawn Bowling Club due to the damage of the green. Instead, we appreciate Skytop for hosting this year’s event.
