What a great night performing at the Yee’s Hung Ga 35th Anniversary Masters Exhibition. It was great seeing old friends, making new ones and watching some of the best Kung Fu in New York and New Jersey. Thank you Grandmaster Yee and Master Pedro Cepero-Yee for allowing ABKFA to participate in this great event. 🙏🏻👊🏻

As I approached the drive thru at Dunkin Donuts the week before Memorial Day, retired Veterans standing there in the rain waiving at everyone driving through, hoping to sell a “poppy” to help their fallen brothers, I am amazed by the people who ignore them as if they are invisible or worse yet a nuisance. Simultaneously shaking my head and their hand, I thank them for their service and add another to my bouquet of poppies - my personal shrine that reminds me everyday the life I am blessed to have is largely thanks to them.

I am taking a moment today to honor the brave men and women who have served this country throughout the ages, names unknown to most, heroism unspoken and largely unrecognized. I feel a profound sadness on this day every year for the countless heroes lost that we know nothing about. We may not, but their families know.

To those families who have lost loved ones, my deepest condolences, my sympathy and respect. Please accept my thanks on their behalf. 🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️

Wishing a Blessed and Happy Birthday to this great lady, Grace Nacienciano. I call her “Your Grace”.

ABKFA has been blessed to have her running the office, answering the phone, collecting tuitions, exhuming the ABKFA newsletter- being the writer, editor and photographer, keeper of records, posting birthdays, anniversaries, posting tournament results, being our number one cheerleader and doing a million other things I can’t thank her enough for. No fb post can fully express how much you are loved and appreciated here at ABKFA.

Taking a moment to remember and give thanks on this Memorial Day to those who have lost their lives in defense of our country and other countries around the world. It is easy to live each day focusing on our lives, families and jobs but on this special day take a moment to think about the families who are missing a loved one lost in battle. The loss is eternal. Every time you see a flag let it serve as a reminder that a heavy, heavy price has been paid by others for us to live the lives we are blessed to live each day. 🙏🏻🇺🇸❤️
