And In This Corner…Lorenz Jordan!!!!!!

Lorenz, a member of the Oneida Nation, will be headlining the main event during Brawl In The Backwoods, a professional boxing event Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Ho-Chunk Gaming Wittenburg. The event is promoted by Native American 5X World Champ, Virgil Hill.

Jordan, who is currently in training in Albany, New York, expresses his passion and inspiration for the sweet science of boxing and acknowledges his support system that enabled him to develop and compete in such a prestigious event.

“I am grateful and blessed that God continues to allow me the ability to pursue my dream. Through my journey, I have grown so much not just physically, but mentally. I am truly thankful for this opportunity and am excited to put on a great performance in front of my family and friends. I have always had a passion for boxing from a young age. As a child I would visit the boxing gym with my dad as he would work out, hear his stories, and just enjoyed watching fights with my dad. I would like to acknowledge and thank my dad (Larry Jordan) and my coaches (Ty Goldston and Jerrick Jones from Albany, New York) for preparing me for this next level,” says Lorenz.

TOTALLY TRIBES' TUESDAY - 1986

Olympian Virgil Hill visited UTETC students and staff on October 15, 1986. During his visit, Hill recounted his experience as an Indian youth and noted that he likes to keep in touch with Indian youth throughout the region. At age 23, the Olympic silver medalist urged students from the vocations and Theodore Jamerson Elementary School to "hang in there... finish your education... I'm thinking about more school myself." Hill, who is part American Indian remembered his youth as an amateur when he boxed in the UTETC gym with the Del Seelye Boxing Club. His visit was in response to an invitation from UTETC English Teacher Mary Lemke issued in 1984 and had renewed interest after the match for the North Dakota light heavyweight championship was scheduled to be held at the Bismarck Civic Center on October 17, 1986.

Hill went on to win the championship in a ten round decision against Eric Winbush and was awarded the championship belt. At the time, he planned to maintain his headquarters in North Dakota which was located in Williston, throughout his professional career.
