Spirit Adventures, LLC. is manifesting a position for a seasonal part-time Builder/Installer/Inspector to join our team. This position is based out of our main office in Northeastern PA and on projects through the eastern United States, with a start date of March 1, 2019 or sooner, if possible.

Type of Employment: Seasonal Part-Time; possibility to extend position at the end of the initial contract period.

Initial contract period: March 1, 2019 through May 31, 2019.

Education Required: Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent. College education preferred.

Experience Required: 1 – 2 years working in or around challenge courses or aerial parks.

Job Summary:
The Builder/Installer/Inspector, reporting directly to the Company CEO and General Manager, will be responsible for the construction, installation, and inspection of Challenge Courses, Aerial Parks, Zip Lines, Industrial at Height Safety Systems, and other structures according to company and customer needs. The candidate will be required to work both with a team and individually at a variety of job sites and locations. Personal safety and the safety of our staff and customers will be the foremost concern while constructing and performing all work duties.
This position will involve an average of 25-30 hours per week at a starting hourly rate of $10-12 per hour, negotiable depending on experience. This is an entry-level position in the field of course construction. On-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construction and Inspection of challenge courses, aerial parks, zip lines, adventure parks, and other structures according to company and customer needs.
• Construction and installation of challenge course, aerial park, and adventure course elements.
• Repair and maintenance construction for customer challenge courses, aerial parks, and adventure parks.
• Accurately measure and cut ropes, cables, timbers, and other materials using hand and/or power tools.
• Receive and check project materials delivered to shop/site and advise Manager or Admin Staff of material shortages or damage.
• Maintain material lists to ensure worksite efficiency.
• Handle, package, and load materials for shipping.
• Work safely at all times according to OSHA safe work guidelines, policies, and practices. Make safe and sound decisions at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of self, other staff, and our clients.
• Maintain good physical condition as necessary to perform all job duties.
• Demonstrate good morals, values, and work ethic.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Must have a valid Driver’s License with clean driving history. Must be able to arrange transportation to Spirit Adventures main office and work sites
• Must provide safety footwear (composite toe and reinforced shank recommended but not required) and hand protection (work gloves)
• Perform all job responsibilities/requirements and meet all work timelines and schedules as assigned
• Maintain cohesive and effectual working relationship with all Spirit Adventures staff and customers
• Must be comfortable using a wide range of construction tools and equipment
• Must be comfortable using measurements and general math skills
• Must be physically fit, able to lift and handle materials up to 75lbs
• Must have a desire to work outdoors
• Capable of working at heights
• Candidates should be willing to travel overnight

Qualifications / Skills and Experience Desired

• Strong carpentry skills
• Ability to follow direction
• Ability to read and execute construction details from blue prints / plans / drawings
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
• Ability to multi-task, be creative, and be self-motivated
• Ability to work long hours and irregular shifts in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in a team AND individually
• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent; College degree/diploma preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in the challenge course/aerial park industry
