Last day of signups!!! 🥎

Registrations for Valley Area Softball 8U through Senior are OPEN!!!

Like last year, we are opening registrations to a wait list until a team is filled and coaching is acquired. Registrations will run through midnight on February 24, 2024.

We are also looking for volunteers interested in coaching as well as assistance with the concession stand and field maintenance. For more information on those positions, send us a message.

If there are any teams that are not filled when registration closes, we will collaborate with another local softball league to make sure all girls are registered to play.

The Valley Area Girls Softball League is one of the USA Softball affiliated softball leagues for the Valley View School District. We are looking to form teams in the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and Senior divisions for 2024.

We play in the Valley Petunia Softball League which plays against several other local area teams such as Jermyn, Jessup, Olyphant, Dickson City, Carbondale, Tripp Park, Abington, Moosic, Old Forge and Dunmore...to name a few. Our home field, Swansee Field, is located in Blakely, PA.

Sandlot Scranton 12th Annual Spring Training for Baseball and Softball

6 weeks
Saturday class will start March 16th and run 6 straight weeks
Sunday classes will start March 10th and run the 17th, 24th, April 7th,14th, and 21st

Boys ages 5-13
Saturdays 10:00-11:30 or 11:30-1:00
Or Sundays 12:00-1:30

Softball ages 5-13
Saturdays 11:30-1:00
Or Sundays 1:30-3:00

***SEASON UPDATE***
Our yearly season kick-off meeting for officers, volunteers and parents was held on 2/6/24. Based on the lack of volunteers present, we are reaching out to you now as a final plea for help. Valley Area Softball, like most organizations, depends on good people like you to step up and help out, otherwise they would cease to exist. Valley Area Softball is currently in need of coaches and general league helpers. If you are interested in coaching a team or helping out, please reach out to us by the end of the day on 2/15/24. If we can't get the help we need, we will need to collaborate with another local community league to be able to continue to provide a great softball experience for our girls at Valley.

Our Valley 14U Zenobi Roofing team pulled off a come-from-behind win to defeat Marvine Dutch 1 last night 9-4! 💪
Valley was behind 0-3 at the top of the 4th inning when Coral Kelly singled driving in the first run. The score remained 1-3 until the top of the 5th inning when with 2 outs Lilly Smith hit a 3-run triple to push Valley ahead 4-3. The 2-out rally continued with a string of hits by Payton Buczynski (double) Coral Kelly, Carissa Jenner, Riley Karwowski and Lucy Gibbs (2-run single) putting Valley up 9-4 by the end of the fifth inning. Brielle Kelly added another double for Valley in the 6th inning.
Grace Munley started out on the mound for Valley pitching 3 innings with 6 strike outs. Lucy Gibbs entered in relief pitching 3 innings with 2 strike outs. What a great team win! Great job ladies! 🥎💪

Our Valley Area 14U Zenobi Roofing Team continued their winning streak with a win over Carbondale on Friday night 12-2.
Grace Munley was the winning pitcher for Valley pitching all 4 innings with 2 hits and 8 strike outs. 🔥
Clare Murphy and Lilly Smith each had doubles and multiple players had singles to put Zenobi Roofing over the top after 4 innings.
Great game ladies, we are very proud of you! 🎉
The Zenobi Roofing team is on the road again today against Marvine Dutch 1.

Our Valley 14U Zenobi Roofing Team was back on their home turf last night for a game under the lights. This tough group of 9 beat Marvine Dutch 2 with a score of 15-4 after 4 innings of play.
Lucy Gibbs pitched all 4 innings for Valley with 5 strike outs allowing 1 hit.
Riley Karwowski led the offense for Valley with 3 hits that included 2 doubles. Grace Munley also had multiple hits for Zenobi with an RBI double in the 4th inning.
Clare Murphy racked up the most RBIs for Zenobi with 3 which included 2 RBIs in the 2nd inning on a single to left field.
Great job ladies! We are all so proud of you! 🥎💕💪
