Well, Burnout BBQ's last and final comp is in the books. We had a great 10 season run, starting with the NJ BBQ State Championship in Wildwood NJ as Hot Rods BBQ Comp team in 2011. We made so many great friends over the years and I am confident that some friendships will last a lifetime.
Our learning curve was long and hard but we managed to have some award winning cooks along the way and always had a blast as a team and with our fellow competitors. Unfortunately, logistics and outside forces have made it impractical for us to continue competing.
Thank you for the support and guidance we received along the way from countless teams and friends, I don't think we would have done 10 seasons without you. On ward and up ward...we will see some of you on the dusty trail again!!

The crew is back out one more time in 2021 for Red, White & Que BBQ Competition in Jackson NJ. We are on the road and headed south!!

A little late posting our results from the Campground bbq series Kno-Q-Out bbq competition last weekend. It’s been an eventful week since, weathering the storm that slammed us here In Jersey. Our teammate Dale had a very close call with an uprooted tree and his house. His neighbor didn’t fare as well as their house was crushed. Luckily no one was hurt. Our hearts go out to them. On to the nitty gritty, we finished up our competition season with our first double header. A lot of work but also a great time. We scored a 5th place call for chicken on day 1 and a mid pack finish on the rest. Now a bbq comp just isn’t complete without at least one rainy day. Day 2 didn’t disappoint. It came down in buckets but broke just before turn ins. Our chicken fell to just outside the top 10 coming in 11th. Actually we tied with our buddies Packanack Lake BBQ Club but they got us with a higher throw away score. We’re gonna hear about that one from the PLBBQC boys for a long time. 😆 Ribs hit 13th on day 2, up from the 20s on day 1. Brisket had us scratching ours heads both days. And pork, well we got some work to do there. All in all, we had great weekend seeing some of our que family and getting to feel a little normalcy after being cut down to just 2 comp weekends this year. Congratulations to all who had their names called. Hopefully the world heals and we can get back to out on trail next year. See ya in ‘21. Smoke on Burnouts.

Back in the mix again. Coming off our first comp of the year last week at Smoke in the Grove, here we are, at our last one of the year, here at the Campground Series Kno-q-out bbq competition in. Always a great competition. It helps that it’s only 5 miles from home. 👍 New this year is that it’s 3 rolled in to 1. A triple header! We opted to do a doubleheader first before we go for three. Sunday morning coming down and we’re back from the 4th annual Smoke in the Grove bbq competition. This was our 1st event of the year and it’s one of our favorites on trail. It was a win just being able to get out to a comp this year and it being this one made it a double win. Now, being that we’ve only cooked once in the past 8 months, we weren’t expecting a top finish. Well, we were right. Lol. Nothing to write home about but the team had a great time and it felt good to be out on the ‘que trail. So we’ll regroup and prep for next weekend and our first ever double header at the Blairstown Kno-Q-Out campground series bbq competition. Smoke on Burnouts...
