This week’s featured photographer is the talented !!!

“I have been a photographer for more than a decade and explored a lot of areas of photography - studio, travel, wildlife.. even astrophotography ! - before discovering underwater photography when I started scuba diving in 2017. While on an assignment in a dive centre in Mozambique, I discovered freediving and fell in love with the sport. I naturally transitioned towards freediving photography and have been covering competitions as well as taking portraits of professional and amateur freedivers ever since.
I love the extraordinary possibilities unique to freediving photography (for instance, some body poses are impossible on land or with a tank) as much as the constraints (like, uh, not breathing !)”

The first factor to consider is price. An average Flex arm costs less than $50 whereas an average B&J arm of a similar length would cost about $150.
The second factor is travel weight. A B&J arm, being made of aluminum, weighs at least x2 or even x3 of than the flex arm.

This week’s featured photographer is from Barcelona!

“I have been passionate about diving since I was a child and watched the adventures of Jacques Cousteau. Every time I came back from a dive and tried to explain to my family what I had seen, I was unable to describe in words how exciting it was, for this reason, I decided to buy my first camera so they could see how incredible it was. I consider myself an amateur who really enjoys bringing the underwater world a little closer to other people.

Nowadays, I no longer consider diving without my camera. I started with only a Sony Rx100 and its housing, and little by little it has grown until I have my current equipment.

I love wide-angle photographs, as it allows you to play with the sunlight and marine life.”

This week’s photographer is the talented .altamiranoo !!!

“I am very motivated to be able to convey to people the importance of the Ocean and empathy for people who do not have the possibility of diving. I have had to dive in different parts of the world, but I am still captivated by diving in Patagonian Fjord where the wáter is very cold and there is not much human intervention . In these cold and dark places there is a lot of life tan can be reflected when turning on the lights and turn on the strobes.”
