Kim's Taekwondo Center has been helping the Minnesota Twin Cities area achieve better Physical, Mental and Life Fitness since 1971. We are located in Blaine, MN with branches all over the Twin Cities Metro area. We understand that each student has his or her own individual learning differences. Our world class Taekwondo instructors will pay close attention in teaching specifically tailored methods

to each student's age and skill level. Children will learn respect, discipline, and confidence all while having fun in Taekwondo classes. Our 55 Year Anniversary Celebration is just under 4 days away (June 13th). We are excited to celebrate this achievement with our students and families. As a reminder, the event is open to all current students as well as anyone who earned their black belt with us. Details below:

Location: Kim's Taekwondo Center, 1425 129th Ave NE, Blaine
Black Belt Photo: 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Celebration Event: 11:00AM to 2:00PM

Black Belt Photo: We are taking a group photo of all black belts before the official event. Please wear a white Dobok and your belt or a light colored shirt. Weather permitting, we will take the photo outside in front of the school. We have spaces for you to change into street clothes afterwards.

Parking: The main lot will be closed until 11:00 AM for the Black Belt Photo. Street parking is available or you can park in the lot for Welle's Auto Supply.

We also have a Van Shuttle service to the Cub Food Parking lot if needed. Those who RSVP'd were sent an email with details.

There will be food, cotton candy machines, dunk tanks and more! See you Saturday.

Throwback Thursday
The 1988 Pan American Taekwondo Championships took place in Lima, Peru just a few months before taekwondo made its first appearance as a demonstration sport in the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and several future Taekwondo Olympians were in attendance. Grand Master Kim served as the President of the Technical Committee for the tournament, responsible for managing the referees and determining the tournament rules. He received multiple commendations, including recognition from the President of The Peruvian Taekwondo Association. Days before the tournament, he received a special commendation from the President of the Pan American Taekwondo Union for his role in helping to establish the necessary referee guidelines that enabled Taekwondo to included in the Seoul Olympics. Later that year, he served on the Executive Committee for the first ever TKD Olympic Trials in Colorado.

An incredibly successful showing for Kim's Taekwondo's Competition team at last weeks MN AAU State Tournament. Kim's walked away with a lot of hardware, including 10 State Champion Titles! Now on to preparing to compete in June at the AAU National Tournament in Florida. (Oh, and special shout out to Mr. Ziegler for stopping by to cheer everyone on.)

Throwback Thursday - Kim's Taekwondo Center hosted the Korean National Demonstration Team at the original Fridley location. Standing behind Grand Master Kim is Dr. Jung Heon Kim who joined Kim's TKD as an instructor after this trip while he studied at the University of Minnesota. He is now the Vice President of the Asian Taekwondo Union, a Professor at Youngin University and Chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. He also serves as the Poomsae Committee Chairman for World Taekwondo!
