The Strategy Is DifferentRacing an e-MTB is not simply riding a heavier bike with a motor. It introduces an entirely new layer of race strategy. Riders have to manage battery use, assist modes, and pacing throughout the course. Using full power on the first climb might feel great, but it could leave...

Thank you to all those who attended the 2025 Challenger MTB Race. We had 321 racers show up despite questionable weather. It only rained for a few minutes, so for 97% of the day, the weather held out for us. Thank you, Jesus!

If you were one of the photographers on the course, please post a link to your photos on our page. Many people were asking me, and aside from Will R, I didn’t see any other photographers.

I have to thank all the volunteers who made the race function smoothly, including my wife Angie, Ian, who mowed all the grass at the start line for us, and the excellent registration team, Debbie, the two Lindas, Sherry, and Karen, Course marshals: Dan, Dave, and Rick. Thank you to Tony (one of the elders from my church) for giving the blessing over the race and racers.

Thank you to Bill and Scott, who cut and trimmed the grass and trees. A big shout-out to Mike Trasatti, Assistant Director, who did a lot, including building the new Rat Run trail (dips) that left you with a smile.

Shout out to Healing Point Massage for the massages after the race. https://qr.codes/4q52kt

Mmmm...Tricycle Food Truck for the delicious eats.

Thank you to CCC for allowing us to have the 8th annual race on their property.

But the biggest surprise of the day was our new e-MTB class. Not only did we have a nice turnout, but they also volunteered during the race and stayed post-race to assist with cleaning up all the tape, cones, and signs. THANK YOU!

We know you loved going back to the track, and I’ll ask the college if we can use that next year. We received numerous compliments on the course and registration (thank you), and we look forward to seeing you at the 2026 Challenger MTB Race.

The course is fully marked with arrows, cones & course tape. If for some reason the tape breaks, cones get moved, etc, follow the natural contour of the trail.
