Hello all BMR soccer alumni. As the summer is winding down, and the soccer season ready to start, we look forward to one of the favorite preseason traditions. The Alumni game has, and will continue to be played on Labor Day, September 3, at 10:00 AM at AFM/JFK school on Lincoln St. We are trying to minimize the use of our newly renovated High School field for the first year. Next year, you can look forward to returning to BMR.

Every year it’s great to see former players help the current team prepare for the year. A lot of you have kept in touch with the program, and that's what makes this event so fantastic. This year, the entire team returns as we had no seniors on last year's squad. Steve Landry is returning as the JV coach, Coach Drake is returning as our consultant (his role title of choice), and Tim Sullivan as assistant coach.

If you plan to play in the game, please RSVP via this email so we can plan accordingly. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected]. There will be a $20 donation to the program to play in the game which will include lunch. Please wear your WHITE Alumni shirts from previous years. Families are certainly welcome and please reach out to anyone we may not be able to contact. This has become a highlight of the year and the players always look forward to it.

Hello all BMR soccer alumni. As the season is poised to get underway Thursday, we look forward to one of the favorite preseason traditions. The alumni game has, and will continue to be played on Labor Day, September 4. This year we are going to play it at 10:00 AM but at AFM. There is a field renovation starting August 30th so for this year, we have to move across the street.
Every year it’s great to see former players help the current team prepare for the year. This year, the team is young, as we graduated 5 seniors and only have 1 in our current senior class. Steve Landry is returning as the JV coach and Coach Drake and Tim Sullivan are back as assistants.

This year, the team is led by a senior class that has been a big part of the program during the last 4 years. We have several returning DVC all-stars accompanied by a strong group of underclassmen. Coach Drake is back as an assistant for a second year and Tim Sullivan has also rejoined the BMR soccer coaching ranks.

Hello BMR
soccer alumni,The fall
season is starting to ramp up. Summer leagues are
starting, juniors are organizing underclassmen and beginning
to give the team their own identity, and we are still in
need of a JV coach. Seeing many of you at the alumni
games over the last several years (which is once again on
for Labor Day), it is clear there is a strong connection to
the program from former players. Coach Drake and
others have clearly had a lasting impact and I’m hoping to
continue this tradition. With the coaching vacancy, it
would be great if a former player would be able to step in
and help the program continue to grow. Jim Signa did
for several years recently and it was fantastic to have
someone who knows the program, expectations, and
history. Ideally we could continue this and I am
reaching out in the hopes someone can help. I
understand the hours are difficult, but if anyone has any
interest, or knows someone who does, please contact me via

Before the Revs game this weekend, I want to have practice at 2:00 and I want it to be a scrimmage. I would love if any alumni could join and help. It will be a controlled scrimmage with stops and coaching but it would be a nice change of pace considering the amount of time we have until our next game. Could you forward the invite to the alum? Welcome to a new BMR Boys’ soccer season. The team started pre-season today in pursuit of a third straight district tourney appearance. With strong leadership from our two senior captains, one a returning league all-star anchoring the team in goal, the second just voted president of the student council for all of New England, the team is poised to make a run. We are looking to you for help in getting us ready for the season. The annual alumni game will once again take place on Labor Day, September 7, at the BMR field starting at 3pm. The cost will be $15 which will include a shirt and food. This is such a great tradition and coming back once again will be Coach Drake. He is returning to the bench this season to lend a hand with the team and with his goal scoring prowess on display last year, I’m sure he is anxious to get back on the pitch. Please bring your previous years white shirt if you still have it.

Let me know if you will be attending and/or eating as we need to get numbers for food planning.

Dear Joe,

Thank you for your interest in our soccer field renovation project. I am writing to you with an update on our project, and with the hope you might be willing to support our effort again this year.

Our group, The BMRSD PK Club, is a non-profit organization consisting of adults and kids who have a genuine interest in improving the athletic experience for kids. We are a “hands-on” group directly responsible for renovating two of Blackstone and Millville’s soccer fields. With district budget cuts, field maintenance and improvement has suffered. The facility not only supports four soccer teams, it serves band, two baseball teams, and the BMR physical education department.

Over the past several years, the PK Club has brought night soccer to BMR, running clinics for youth soccer players in local towns, and organized youth teams to play at halftime of major games throughout the season. The BMR field renovation is our most ambitious project yet. This field had been neglected over the last 30 plus-years, but our group along with several others, are beginning to bring it back. We were able to gain some momentum by appealing to the school committee to seed and fertilize the fields. We hope to continue this effort, working with the district, to bring irrigation and basic maintenance to the fields to provide a first class playing surface for our players. Our goal this year is to raise funds and awareness of our intentions.
