“Okay but… I’ve never had a massage before.” 👀
Let’s do a little first-time massage Q&A because I know some of y’all are nervous and overthinking it. 😂
Q: “What if I’m awkward?”
A: Honestly… most people are at first. Within 10 minutes you’ll be face down in the table wondering why you waited so long.
Q: “Do I have to talk the whole time?”
A: Nope. You can talk, vent, laugh, trauma dump, fall asleep, or say approximately 3 words the entire session. All acceptable here. 😂
Q: “What if I don’t know what to book?”
A: That’s literally my job to help with. We’ll talk about your goals, pain, stress levels, nervous system, mobility, etc.
Q: “What if I’m self-conscious?”
A: I promise I’m focused on muscles, fascia, posture patterns, tension, and helping your body feel better — not judging you.
Q: “Will it hurt?”
A: Massage does NOT have to feel like medieval torture to work. We work with your body, not against it.
Q: “What if I fall asleep?”
A: Congratulations. Your nervous system finally felt safe enough to rest. We love that for you. 😂
Q: “Is massage really worth it?”
A: If your body feels tight, stressed, overstimulated, exhausted, anxious, achy, burnt out, or like you carry the weight of the world in your shoulders… yes.
You don’t have to “earn” rest before taking care of yourself. 🌿
