Its the last day of the Sparta R100 - I hope ya all got out there to get some practice in. Deer season is only a handful of weeks away.

The Black River Falls Shaft Busters Archery and Sportsman Club will have open shooting on Wednesday nights starting July 15th 2026. There will be a 14 target 3D course, 20 yard indoor range, and a 100 yard outdoor practice range.
Public is welcome to come and shoot, there is a $40 yearly membership, a $5 nightly shooting fee, and free memberships for under 16 years of age. Memberships can be purchased at Moe Hardware, German Hill Equipment or the Black River Sportsman’s Club. Also included with the membership is a 200 yard rifle shooting range with benches at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards.

Leagues are going great. Some new persons, the same old persons and plenty of smiles backed up by professional level smack talking!!!

But last evening we had our annual evening of scoring and some great bucks taken by members got a little extra attention and a plethora of smiles !

Last evening at our 1st club meeting of the year. It was a joyous celebratory type setting. In an effort to reflect the long time efforts of a member, his community accolades and his love for all things outdoors - its was a raucous and overwhelming choice and a 110% approval and vote for our 2026 Shaftbusters Club president.

We are excited to see what changes and vision he brings forward in this adventure. He is celebrating this exalted position by a few week vacation.....we have full confidence upon his return he will make up the time missed and then some.

Hunter league begins this Monday.

5 spot league begins this Wednesday.

Both leagues welcome all level of shooters. Its much more social than it is competitive.

Handicapped scoring. Great times. Often great food and drink.
