Please help welcome Aaron Mc Elwee as our Director of Coaching.
Aaron is originally from Northern Ireland, he came to the United States in 2011 on a scholarship to play college soccer at the University of Mary. Aaron brought a wealth of playing experience and he was a four year starter during his time at the University of Mary. Growing up in Northern Ireland, Aaron started playing soccer at a very young age and he was part of many prestigious soccer academies. Most notably, Aaron represented the Northern Ireland National Team from the ages of U15 -U19. Aaron played in the first tier of Irish league football starting at 15 years old for Dungannon Swifts and also in the league of Ireland for Finn Harps.
In terms of his coaching experience, Aaron began coaching in the United States in 2012 beginning at Dakota United Soccer Club. Aaron has coached at all levels of youth soccer. He has been very involved in the Bismarck/Mandan community over the past 12 years. Aaron has made an impact in many players throughout the years in this area. He has served as the Technical Director at Dakota United Soccer and coached at Mandan Soccer Club. In addition to coaching at the club level, Aaron has also coached at Bismarck High, Century High, Mandan Middle School and Mandan High School.
Aaron graduated from the University of Mary in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. Furthermore, Aaron also graduated from the University of Mary in 2020 with a master’s degree in physical education and athletic administration. Aaron is a current Health and Physical Education Teacher at Mandan High School. He is also the head boys and girls soccer coach at Mandan High School. Aaron has two sons, Owen (8) and Oliver (7). He enjoys golfing in his free time.
Aaron currently holds the following soccer coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation: Grassroots, National D License, National C License. He is very excited about this coaching opportunity and he intends to continue to help players of the Bisman area further develop their skills and strive for excellence.
